Lithium batteries don't need careful conditioning, and a 1500mAh battery wouldn't have been twice the size. And while it might have been 50% heavier (probably less in reality; as the casing wouldn't have been that much bigger), it would have been the battery weight only - not the overall weight.
When we're talking anything from 100-150g, to be honest, the weight difference isn't that noticeable. Size is more of a factor.
Oh, and where IS the Facebook app? Slow or not, I don't even have it or any access to it!

Update: I did another full reset and this time I didn't restore any backup (besides contacts and bookmarks).
So, I had a totally clear C drive and then removed everything from the memory card except for photos/videos (backup card, format card on phone and restore data via USB).
Now, I am happy to say that all of the lagging has gone away - so something had clearly got corrupted somewhere along the way.
Even more significant is the fact that I've been restoring and setting up the phone, constantly, for about two hours and the battery has barely moved.
So, now I'm starting to see the Satio in a different light! Just in time too, as I'll have to finish the review very soon.
Went looking on PlayNow for apps, to see if I could see the FB app and I've just seen some 'Handy....' apps selling for 20UKP. Seriously, a calendar app that costs 20 quid? Even an alarm app is selling for £10!!
No wonder Symbian is never going to get a decent selection of apps. Nobody will buy them!

Software is written by software engineer, it requires a lot of times to be written and huge knowledge.
If you can't afford £10 for a software you like next time buy a cheaper phone or a nintendo DS...

£10 for an alarm?

doesn't Satio have one? I know programming costs money but come on, this is silly.

Morris: Told you things aren't as bad as your test unit was showing to be.
As for the batteries, yes; Li-Po batteries do need initial care. Li-Ion ones don't. Li-Po batteries also tend to be a tad bulkier. If you want to see just how big a Li-Po 1500 mAh battery looks like, just open an X1's back cover. Honestly, I don't think there's enough space in a Satio to fit something that big. Not unless they make the whole phone as bulky as the camera cover.

They should've crammed a larger battery in there, at least a 1500 mAh.
And have it twice as thick and 50% heavier?
Nokia was able to fit a 1500 mAh into the E71 and the N97. If SE redesigned the back cover and camera cover, it could easily fit in a 1500 mAh. It's just that SE went for looks over usefulness.

Satio requires less power to operate due to its new architecture Cortex A8 so you can't compare an ARM11 with a Cortex A8.

Obviously you're not going to fit in a 1500mAh battery in the existing case; definitely too late now. They should have done this at the design stage, but for some reason they like using the BST-33 in everything these days.
Whatever happened to the BST-40? Same size but thicker, and could have got around 200-300mAh more in.
As for not being as bad as I first said, yes, that's good news - but it was still stuttering when playing video today. Not as much, but there's still something not quite right and it really will need a firmware update ASAP.

It's not as simple as that though, is it? A £10 alarm app is simply not viable, no matter how long it took to make, so something is clearly wrong here. Either the S60/Satio platform is too difficult to develop for, or the market is too small to make these applications worthwhile at a lesser, more palatable price.
It's a fact that on at least one other phone that shall remain nameless, such an app would be pence, not pounds - let alone ten of them.
