> O2 release date for P990 now 16th Oct (
Bookmark topic
After trying to reserve the phone on o2, they won't do it.... even though my upgrade is due now!
That means the phones will be red hot on monday morning! (probably to find out a new release date)
Anyone else have any news on it?

This is the kind of deal that o2 should be doing for the P990.

I'm sure there's the potential to download a lot of data without realising it, knowing how easily it can be done on a computer.

Well there doesn't seem to be anything on the page that says you have to have a blackberry to use that plan but at £23/month it's still a bit more than I really wanted to pay . . . might be worth an ask though (btw, according to their Fair Use policy Unlimited means 75MB/month!!). The Data36 is £14.50 a month so I might see if I can start on that if there's the possability of dropping down to Data5 if I'm not using it

3 days to go!
After another go at Customer services, I spoke to a man who seemed to know what he was on about. He said that the p990i was DEFINITELY going to be released on 23rd (he was waiting for one too) going to call early on monday.
At least we wont get the heavy branding that the orange handsets have so im sure it will be worth the extra wait...?

The O2 Select Customer Services Retention and Upgrade team is adamant that it will be released on Monday 23 October. The date is now confirmed and no longer quoted as week commencing.
So Monday it is then, good luck to all and of course post all your experiences.
O2 Online however will not be getting the phone hence why it has been removed from the O2 Online coming soon page.
O2 Store Watford has said it will not be released until 1st-2nd week of November. At the very earliest 30 October but very unlikely.
If there is someone from O2 out there, what is the truth and when will the handset be released? Please tell us!!!

sunnychad, I spoke to o2 in harrow and they said the same thing as Watford. But they wont be advertising the p990i in the magazine. I think it will be a customer request only? and delivered on personal request?
Well only the weekend to go until we find out... does anyone know what time the lines for retentions/upgrade opens?
cheers

your on mate
the worst thing would be "out of stock"
I also hope that there are limited bugs on the phone!
Also how much have people been quoted? I have been told £129.99

Race is off!!!
I have been told the date at O2 has changed to Monday 30 October 2006. Either this is a ploy to prevent people inundating them on Monday 23 October or they are a real bunch of 455 HOLES!!!
The excuses are the phone has not passing the vigorous O2 testing or Sony Ericsson cannot supply enough handsets. Either way CS cannot give any firm advice or evidence as to what is going on.
I have asked for my PAC number, so should get it by Wednesday and I will be off them forever, despite the deals to keep me!!!
I am real pissed off with them now...and the staff are crap too...
I have been quoted £79.99 on a 12 month contract for £35 per month giving me 1000 anytime Xnet mins, 200 SMS, ITS, and 3 month rollover. I will kick up enough fuss to get teh £79.99 credited to my account!!! Currently on 750 anytime Xnet mins and 100 sms for £20, so the addition £15 for 250 mins and another SMS seems worth it.
