Mark : The link that Novell provided is the forum I meant.
Really hesitate to buy this phone after hearing so many problems. Even 3w23 phone hiss as well, then the ringtone lagging problem, follow by dead phone problem and the list goes on

Wait wait and wait. Several months ago I thought this T610 is the phone for me, so wait until now...
Nokia 6600's specifications looks great, 6MB RAM built in and support MMC, but don't know will have as much problem as the T610 or not... After this 6610 is out, wait wait wait again for the early adopters' reports? Then if problem exists, wait wait wait for the another phone.
Argh... waiting for a perfect phone is not the solution for this. Guess you and I are the last two person here who haven't get it?

Come on guys... problems happens on majority of newly launched products. It's about getting in to market sooner than competition. Why wait to get all the problems solved when you can issue patches (new sw) after the product release? At least, this is in the mindset of most end-product manufacturers.
A smart move is to hold your urge until the 2nd batch comes out. That way, most problems will have already been addressed, yet, the phone is still not out of trend.

Problem is even with the 3w23 batch, there are still some defective phones. No firmware can fix the problem, only audio recalibration which IMO... a dirty way to get the hissing fixed.

Getting a Nokia 6600 is good enough, but getting a SE P800 is the unbeatable handset out there. With all the greatest features and lots of thirdparty software to add in. All i can say...Awesome.

Hi guys,
My T610 has stayed up for more than 2 days now without actually falling "asleep". So I guess it was MAXIS that was causing all the problems. I was told that they have lots of problems last week after the flood.
Anyway, I just found out that if u use GPRS, it actually costs RM 15 for 1MB of data thats uploaded and downloaded. That's so expensive! I don't think I'll use my GPRS to download wallpapers anymore. Good thing I have 1MB free from MAXIS.
Oh..I get a chance to play with the Sagem MyX-6 today. U guys were right. The phone felt cheezy. The ringing tones are as spastic as the MyX-5 which I had for a week before switching to the T68i.

markng...yes, maxis's gprs is expensive. I heard DiGi is the cheapest, but I don't want to change to DiGi coz I already have so many rebates from maxis...loyal customer thingy.
sahmun...i think Nokia 6220 which is scheduled to be released in 3rd quarter which is just 2 weeks away, would be more of a competitor to the T610. That nokia model you mention is half a year away, at least.

Okay, now 'dead phone' is just a network problem. Other than hissing, anything else that I should check before paying? 19th of May, 2003 - A day when I will be getting it, *hopefully*. I will go to EricServe first, then Sg. Wang, any other places that I can hunt for a 3w23 T610 (must be below 1.6K cash)??
