@bobafett:

i think u r confusing capability with usage. just because the silly steps to activate the speakerphone in K700 does not make the K700 less capable isnt it?

Pls notice, that i am used to /// and se, so its weird for me. @yomans its the same method, i mean questioning in 3510i aswell, so its a nokia tradition. This message was posted from a T68i

@Yomans

Yes I have actually, a Nokia 6600. It is a good mobile, but I wasn't all that impressed with it compared with my P900.

I don't think it is good for innovation or for customers for all manufacturers to use the same platform. That isn't to say Series 60 isn't good, just that I would like to see SE continue to use UIQ.

@yomans all i ment is the unlogical meaning of those questions at the usage of the fone, like at browsing wap to be asked if i wanna open a chosen site - made me bit mad when i played a bit on 3510i. So pls dont take it as blaming, more a statement of me according my first sentence here. This message was posted from a T68i

Symbian OS has all those questions because they know the system is not rough enough to avoid virus and intrussions, so with all those steps they avoid intruders that could control the phone or the OS, damaging the device.

I've also heard thet the new version of symbian is really rough, so maybe all those redundant questions will be history, because the rougness of the OS, and the capability to self defense from intrussions and viruses will make them unecessary.

It's all about price . You know how much costs SE P serie and how much costs series 60 phones . It's a different category and you can't compare both phones and UI'es (UIQ and series 60 ) . SE needs to release new phones and let the customers decide which phone fits his needs and wallet . There is a realy big need for a cheap smartphone because this section has the bigest potencial (advanced users are more&more every year) .
About the same platform . Looking on progress I think in future there will be only 3 platforms . Symbian 50% , Linux an MS mobile both 25% . It would be good for software and web developers and also for users to have an standard for this .

@Yomans

Well SE's plan is apparently to use UIQ3 to enable them to release mid-range smartphones, which will be more affordable and able to appeal to a larger market.
