From looking at the website it doesn't seem compatible as they dont show a picture off the Satio only the Aino.
They do sell ones that work on ebay.

I've tried plugging in my old MMR-60 and it starts flashing and the phone recognises it but an exclamation mark appears which would indicate some sort of problem. The radio icon appears temporarily in the status bar too. So I don't think it works - not on the MMR-60 anyway.

The black one is too.. in fact, I think they all are.

And most of the SE accessories won't work with the Satio because - it may have the same port - but it's really not a normal SE phone.

To be honest, given that we're all going to micro USB, I can't understand why SE didn't use this on the Satio - and then include a 3.5mm headphone jack. There's really no point in having the connector if the accessories won't work!

The TV out cable would have worked fine via the headphone jack (or USB).

BAIL OUT NOW. Seriously if that is the case I wouldn't dare buy it or take it if I was offered this.

the problem is whether any decent apps will appear in the near future.

The issue that springs to mind however is, here in 2009 do we really need an app for something that the Symbian O/S does not already provide. The obvious answer is yes when you look at the iPhone, but then what percentage of the apps on the iPhone and other smartphones are actually all that compulsory because the phones default interface lacks the functionality ? I can only imagine novelty or niche type apps apply. Most apps do not add to the overal functionality of the phone but simply enhance it.

Regarding the lack of a 3.5mm jack, it is a bit of a crime but then how many high spec phones released.. ever.. have had every single function, feature or hardware spec which at that point in time could be considered perfect ? None !

At tha Satio blog, they cnastantly discuss about which accessories work and which don't. Why not keep an eye on that?

The same thing happens with MMR-70. Shame.

I understand that. However, they should have built in support for their own accessories into S60. They did it for A200 -> UIQ, don't see why it shouldn't be possible with S60. As well as many other standard things that are missing in this phone.

To those who have the (EU ver.) Satio, does it display Chinese/Japanese/Korean?

wikipedia's startpage would be a good way of checking.
