Can it import .csv files? This is the most basic form af data, as it's plain text. I believe, thinking back to dim and distant past, that OE can export to .csv. Stands for "Comma Sepparated Values" btw. It's a VERY clunky workaround, but it may get you by 'till someone cleverer than me comes along - so it shouldn't be long

Not being an itunes user, I've no idea, but I seem to remember that you can export your OE contacts under something like File->Export->Address Book.....then choose csv as your export format, and put it somewhere you can find it such as your desktop.
With Itunes though, I'd start with file - open, or its equivalent and see what it does....or try its help pages to see how to import contact data in plain text.

Sorted, fyi in case anyone has this problem in the future......
Imported my contacts from outlook express to yahoo, then changed itunes to sync with yahoo....phew!
