I presume that SE have a strategy for smartphones, but we shall just have to wait and see. There are already moves by SE to appeal to a broader market and I think this trend will continue. SE seem to regard UIQ3 as allowing them to expand their range.

The only smart i got is the r380, if its, it serves me well. Think its individual at usage what do we really need, for me detailed contact infos, calendar and task feature are enough.

Yes! Simplicity is beauty as they say, so goes with the fone's features, as complicated ones really makes your mind think more . . . which sometimes is very unnecessary . . . I guess!

whether SE likes it or not, Series60 smartphones would be competing against SE mid-to-high range (e.g K700 / S700). If buyer's priority is functionalities then it would be a very tough fight for SE.
In the keynote speech, Nokia is merging the Series80/90 (used in 7710/9500) into Series60. So in near future Nokia will hv one smartphone platform that span from high-volume mid-range to the niche high-end phones.
SE needs to do something fast to counter this formidable Series60 threat. SE would be particularly vulnerable because its products r marketed as high-tech/functions.

I just don't see that they are competing; for me there is a distinction between smartphones and non-smartphones and I think the majority of customers have the same opinion.
