this is not the point in discussion. issue is whether K750i/W800 is so revolutionary that it will elevates SE to top-notch.
to me K750/W800 is so rudimentary that it does not even come close to something like 6680/6630/XphoneII/MotoE680.

from a general phone perspective i would have to say yes...
2.0 cam, basic UI, mp3, size, screen..makes it the top of its' class for a "dumb phone"
there are no "dumb phones" that can match SE in this area yet...with regards to balance in style and performance and specs.
we've got a v635 and 6230i in the works at best
for example you can give this phone to my grandma and see can figure out how to take pics, makes a call and listen to music...
you give a series 60 smartphone and 80 apps for her and she'll throw the phone and me out the window..
series 60 is a very advanced OS but may be too much for some users.

@scotsboyuk
so r u saying that SE K750/W800 is like the space shuttle? this is flaw analogy. firstly SE is not a monopoly of certain technology which no one has. the K750/W800 does not any technology that has not been used before. So what is so revolutionary about these 2 phones?

Lets just hope that SE's market rate doesnt drops further as for pseries there were many factors for pulling out royalty was one of them

i think u r trying to do selective comparison of K750 technology. Compared to a 6230i, K750 would be superior. But you cannot just benchmark K750 against a lower grade phone and declare it as an indication that SE technology is "advanced".

SE do not pay any licence fees to Nokia. UIQ is not owned by Nokia and neither is Symbian. Looking at the ownership of Symbian, Nokia is the largest owner. But have not own majority. All manufacturers (Nokia, SE, Samsung etc.) using Symbian pay licence fees to Symbian (not Nokia) and the amount is equal for everybody.

that was posted by me....
sure you can... you can't just lump everything together..
becasue there is a target market that SE/nokia has identified
i can think of many reasons why a regular SE is more advanced then series 60 and UIQ....
better battery = more advanced tech
simplified menu offering = soemthing that can dumb it down for people can be considered advanced.
smaller form factor = abilty to put more in something smaller can be considered more advanced.
at the end of the day series 60 /uiq is merely more custimizeable not nescesarily advanced.
what can a series 60 phone do that these new SE's can't?

@mib1800. What Scotty is simply saying is just because one thing doesn't sell as much as another doesn't mean it is less advanced.

exactly, there are more fords made than mercedes, but it doesnt make them more advanced.
Nokia is the BULK producer of the mobile world.
Sony Ericsson is the QUALITY producer of the mobile world.
