S60 phones have always been able to do the alarm while they're turned off, its one of the many advantages Nokia S60 had over SE UIQ. Realy strange the Satio doesnt do it though.

what's the problem with putting the phone on Flight Mode and use many more functions than just the alarm...
i always do that with just a flick on my P990 (don't know if you have to reset the phone on A200)
as you know it... flight mode turns off the phone in the network's eyes!!!
oh and one thing....
on one of the many reviews; i saw that there was an ITC60 tv-out cable and an HPM-77 (or 88) in the box... anyone can confirm????

Its just always good to give the phone a fresh start for the day, especialy smartphones. You run apps and close them and they leave background processes still running, eating away at ram and battery, and just wasting resources,so thats why i turn off my smartphone. My K850 usualy stays on most of the time.

I have always hated the feature that even when the phone is off or on silent, the alarm still goes on as scheduled...
If I have turned my phone off or on silent then I want it to be silent... But no offence to those who like this feature... Maybe there should be an option to choose whether one want the alarm when the phone is silent or off...

@ >500 - CPW told me they were no longer supplying to Satio on PAYG at the moment, yet all of their signage is still on their fixtures advertising it so. So They probably are. I didnt ask since i was on contract.
@ Bonovox - thats a shame, i think the Satio is one phone that could draw anyone to a contract
@ goldenface - that stand can be bought at CPW, its an optional accessory only AFAIK
@ chombos1 - you get what i presume is a HPM-77 in the box. Still would have rather had a 3.5mm jack though !
@ GUCCI.011 - i only ever reboot my S60 smartphones when necessary (such as when the phone freezes up or slows down and becomes unresponsive). Its never really affected the battery life or speed of the handsets ive used. As long as the user knows to exit apps rather than simply menu out of them there shouldnt be a problem.

Well there is a selection of alarms to choose from which you can switch off in seconds from the shortcut menu.

@ Gucci, your K850 probebly turns itself off & on
@ hgautam, "dumb" phones have the option "on/off when silent"

Just seen a short review of this phone in the Daily Mirror. They give it 2 stars

They said great camera but too big with an outdated OS which is too slow and has a poor response on touch screen. They said hopefully Sony Ericsson' new Android handsets should be better. Dont have a link. On the same page the Palm Pre was given 5 stars

I am still on the hunt for the Satio Facebook and Twitter apps shown on the box! Has
anyone got either of these, or know where they can be obtained from?
I asked on Twitter to the SonyEricssonUK account and they replied saying it was out for download (didn't say where, naturally - it's some big secret that I'm not in on) but then said I could use Snaptu. Good as this is, it's hardly a proper Facebook or Twitter client!
I am using Gravity, which is obviously going to be better than the SE Twitter client but I want to see it and review it (and Gravity does seem to slow down the phone and sucks power). I just can't understand why everyone is saying it exists yet it doesn't show anywhere; it's not on PlayNow or the SE website.
Am I going mad? How can SE say something exists when it so clearly doesn't!!
