After proper testing, I went from hating it to tolerating it for its shortfalls and actually liking the Satio a lot. The OS is flawed, there is no doubt about that and I won't even try to defend it, but there are enough good aspects (like the camera and SE's standby application) that more than makes up for it.

Although I had reservations at first, I ended up giving the phone 4/5 - but explaining the compromises you'll need to make. I would personally say that if SE took the Satio exactly as it was and put Android on there, it would be my perfect phone. Yes it is big, but I like taking photos and for me the larger size and a proper flash (and a decent sensor) is what I want - if I didn't, there are plenty of alternatives out there.

As for the Pre, I've written on my own forum that it's like having bought a car before they invented roads. The phone is all ready and capable of doing great things, but for now you think 'is this it?' once you've got your email, looked at your unified address book and - well, not much else. The Pre is so underdeveloped, even after a year, that webOS has a long way to go before it takes off. I am not even sure that it will in the UK at all.

Well anyway despite what some reviews or people say i would have a Satio tomorrow if i could afford one I dont mind the bigger size either i have had some of the old bigger Sony Ericsson smartphones. I always felt like i was carrying a quality product. Its still a decent size that fits in a pocket.

People don't seem to actually want tiny phones anymore anyway - not here and not in Japan (where they once had miniscule handsets).

You want decent battery life, a big clear screen and other things - and I think we've found a general size and weight that seems optimal. Now it's about putting more features in, not always reducing the size for the sake of it.

The Satio is a bit big, but if you want to look at photos and videos then what's the alternative? The iPhone doesn't seem to attract many complaints (although it is thinner).

Yes them features need to fit somewhere and with consumers becoming ever more demanding wanting more features. They cant really complain if its a bit big. As Nokia call them mini computers. I actually am liking the n900 nice preview on Phone Arena.

That is true. Ive never realy had major problems with RAM or battery on my current S60, but after getting the app KillMe which allows you to see and terminate some of the unnecessary processes, ive noticed general performance in speed, RAM and battery improve,not that they were bad before but its nice to be able to take full advantage of the hardware and see what the device is realy capable of when most of the unnecessary stuff is not there, ive set KillMe to terminate those unnecessary processes at boot up. Using an app like it will let you see what realy is happening in the phone, even after Exiting some apps they leave processes there, like the Camera app,or apps like Nimbuzz, Java apps as well leave stuff in the background even after being exited. Normal 3rd party taskmanagers except Jbak dont show these processes. Sorry for the long post,but thats why i like shutting down my s60,i just love getting the best i can out of it.

LMAO! thats very true,it did that the other day. It was just sitting there, not a single app had been booted, then the next thing i hear something vibrating, looked at my N81 thinking i got a Facebook message on Nimbuzz, no, im like WTF then, then i look over at the K850 and its rebooting unbeleavable.

Has anyone noticed any "Dead" pixels on the screen or the camera lense?

I seem to have 4 white dots which ONLY appear when recording video with the camera, the screen itself is fine and the Photo lense it seems is fine too.

Can anyone check theres and see?
