i hope will only offer a wifi capable or bt 2 or 4 based pico projector ...meaning as an accessory

put the projector sensor into the phone only make the smartphone look thick...pocket unfriendly
since people not going to use the projector all the time...split it to an accessory is better.

iphone 5- rumoured to come out end of year/feb next year.

the thing with psp2 nintendo 3ds and xperia play/psp phone
is that you can play emulators on them (though no marketing on this)

psp phone and psp2 have the most emulators on them
then
nintendo and iphone on par

the psp2 and psp phone can play -with emus- ps1,sega master sytem 1,2, sega mega drive(genesis), nes,snes games
and the psp2 can play multiplayer games online and and emu ps2 games on it aswell.
so its just a matter of marketing - the stock standard of the xperia play..

PSP2 and Nintendo can't make phone calls. iPhone doesn't have any game controllers. So I think Xperia Play has an appeal to the group in between heavy gamers (PSP2 and Nintendo is maybe petter for them) and casual gamers (then iPhone and a regular Android can do the job).

on the contrary the PSP2 will have some sort of 3G cellular capability, wither this means a GSM sim slot or some other technology, i dont know. at the very least im sure the modding community will be able to get skype to run on it some way or another, then you'll have your calling capabilties

Firstly, from what I've read it will have 3g data connectivity through NTT DoCoMo, Japanese network, Japanese network tech, may only be included on Japanese models, but I'd say it had a good possibility that it would be included on global models.

Secondly, I wouldn't expect a microphone to be built into the PSP2 so you'd have to hope for bluetooth with handfree protocols for a chance at getting any calls of any description.

Thirdly, I really think Xperia Play will be massively outperformed by PSP2 making the PSP2+any phone a no brainer for real gamers.

The markets for PSP2 and Xperia Play will be completely different. It's back to the argument during the cam-phone megapixel race of buying a camera phone or a top of the range DSLR. Those who are serious will buy the serious device and the 45 minutes a day public transport commuter gamers will get the Play (if SE are lucky). No one complained that the K800 ate Sony's compact digital camera sales because it didn't, it wasn't a digital camera and was nowhere near as good.

I, in fact, think the Play will sell best to 14-18 year olds who's parents won't fork out for a full PSP2 for them and SE will make a good lot of sales to that age group so long as the system is easy enough to navigate.

SONY ERICSSON has a real big chance here NVIDIA is giving them a chance here they should seriously take the TEGRA2.5 -
So that they could not only give dual core also 3D
