I bough the P990 4 days back after waiting for more than 6 months. I started to discover bugs immidialtely. I can say all applications do not work properly.
Just to mention a few number of bugs; I had the below issues:
- Calender crashes especially if you include text in the properies from outlook when you synchenize.
- all applications may not start due to memeory leak
- The phone just starts by itself and when it boots again it displays a message"Your phone has automatically started to improve performance"
- email sync with a pop3 e-mail crashes all the time - you need to remove the batery
The multimedia functions are good (media player and Radio). Also the synch with the PC.
Overall and after I saw hell for 4 days, I decided to return the phone and get my money back. I bought a K800i also from sony ericsson. I believe it should be better.
COnclusion and through my last 13 years as an IT pro, I believe sony ericsson know about the above mentioned issues and before they are resolved they will release a new model forcing people to drop the p990 and go for the new phones.
The mobile phone industry is a spoiled market; consumers have to be carefull.

The killer question for me is 'Does the p990 have solitaire'.
If it does I'm getting one, if not then I'll be sticking with the old faithful p910. It's important to me.

Just found this -
http://se-p990-software.epocware.com/Cant_Stop_Solitaires.html
phew that was close, looks like the search for a good p990 deal is back on.
Incidently, I've just rung carphoneware house and the bloke I spoke to said they don't have any dates or tarrifs for the phone.

By the way, if you press a button from the keyboard continously... does it type the same letter ie "sssssssssss" just like in a computer keyboard? Or if you press it once and hold it it just types "s" only once?
