The application works OK in relation to the bugs. But I worked with
it for several hours and tested all the functionalities. The Call POI
via a contact person and using an address from a contactperson
to navigate does not work always. The application also hangs when
I have selected this address and it does not work. Also scrolling
through the menu gives a strange reaction when you use the arrows
in the menu and use the 5-way scroll key after that.

Nils had a two crashes when filling in the registration code.
Furthermore the first time I used the application it was not possible
to check the GPS status. The function could be clicked, but was
never started. It does work ok now.

Route66 is also a pretty large application. A Benelux map with complete
application with all voices is around 120 MB, which is enormeous. A
TomTom Mobile 5 application for Series 60 (comparable with UIQ,
because all the apps are around the same size at TT) is 60 MB.

Route66 uses 9.5 MB from your memory. That leaves me relating to
Sman with 18% of the memory left. Normally I run with 63% when
no applications run. It uses a lot of memory. It could give some
problems when you use more programs during normal usage.

I made a video of Route66. It is a AVI-file and I will put on my server
for several days so that you can check it:

MR, thanks for all the great info.

Edit: having watched the movie, any chance you could record one showing more of the map and navigation functions?

The video is made by RemoteP910 so he can only show something with his pc in the area. Maybe I will give a try with my laptop these days.

I also use remote p900. Ace app.

I realise that it isn't very practical to try to capture while you're actually on the move. I wouldn't endanger you good folks in that way

I watched the existing movie and while it gave a good idea about how to pair with a gps receiver, look up accident blackspots etc... it didn't cover stuff that I found sluggish on wayfinder, such as setting an end point from a search, or a map, and moving around on the map on the p910.

Hence the request.

I did ask route66 if they gave out demo versions, or time-limited versions etc. I got a very polite response that they didn't. Which is a shame, cos it is quite a lot of money to put out for something virtually sight unseen.

Thanks!

A new video also in the english language. I do not like the search
function of Route66. It takes a while and you need to fill in a lot
of data to get the correct street and city:

MR, thanks a million. That was exactly the functionality that I was missing.

Good stuff!

Not as handy as TomTom, but works better than Wayfinder and EnginYoy. Route66 for UIQ is better than Route66 for S60.
