Heavy JPG compressed I'd imagine, which is a shame. SE should consider at least offering up a super-fine or pseudo-RAW mode, if only to give the phone some more credibility in the camera world.

The Pixon12 saves images that are well over 3MB each, which is what you'd expect from a 4000x3000 pixel image with lots of detail.

Looking at recent comparisons i actually prefer the Samsung Pixon 12 for overall quality of photos. Much sharper with great detail definition and colour. Also i dont really need a smartphone

I am sure SE will do something for the camera quality in the coming FW
I found a bug: every time I choose anything else than ''Sony Ericsson'' as theme style for homescreen the phone lacks the command virtual buttons, though it worked well the first time
SE homescreen is cool but it ''eats'' 50% of the screen

Come to think of it, UIQ's death was the beginning of the end for Symbian. And to to think I lamented SE for dropping the best mobile OS ever.

ditto...that was the end of my connection with Symbian...and also with SE...but i´m curious to see their Android stuff

UIQ was effectively destroyed with the launch of UIQ3, which was a step backwards in many ways, plus poor handset design (lack of memory, slow processor). The big problem was the poor use of the screen for many applications. Instead of tiny status bars, we had a great chunk of real estate showing the name of the application or pointless icons. The web browser was effectively a tiny window on an already small, average resolution, display.

However, it was still designed from scratch around touch (but, with a stylus not a finger or thumb) and had more shortcuts that you could press on-screen - and had loads of potential that was never realised.

It's clear that S60v5 has tried to copy some aspects of UIQ in its design, but sadly it seems to be all the wrong things!

Think back to the P800i in 2002 and you can probably remember when everyone had one, and besides some REALLY ropey devices running Windows, it was Sony Ericsson that probably convinced thousands and thousands of people that there was a future in touchscreen smartphones. The P800i (despite an odd design) was a massive success, as was the P900i - but it all started to fall apart beyond that with successive disappointments.

Just think; Sony Ericsson had around six years head start on Android!
