Whats written on the charger label? Got 2 r520, one of them is r1b, the other is r1c. According the date of manufacture the r1c is older, even in better condition.

R250s PRO review
Ok, my impressions so far with the old 'R'..
Itīs a behemoth of a phone! 325 grams locked and loaded
That said, it fits a male hand well despite/due to itīs size,
buttons suffer a little of the sharkfin syndrome, they donīt always register keypresses, guess itīs because of the Gore-tex under the keypad.
Battery life is around 4 days, indoors at work (old factory building with medium reception, except in the basement/server room where it is between zero and two "dots" Standard or extra long aerial doesnīt seem to matter much, but i have heard that hunters use long aerial with good results in the forests.
Havenīt torture tested the phone because the price is high and supply low IF something nasty should happen..
I did put it in the handbasin/sink when washing my hands though, and as expected it took the shower test with flying colors *donīt try that with your Nokia 5140 or Siemens M55, they WILL fail*
Not much more to add, standard Ericsson menus.. supplied FM-radio works great!
Speakerphone is the loudest i have ever heard! I can easily listen to my voice messages from across a living room!
Ringtone (mixed) seems louder than any Ericsson as well, but a little hard to tell, itīs so annoying in itself as you probably already know (and i guess you DO know, since you read this thread

)
Bottom line: I am extremely happy I found a brand new specimen of this Ericsson classic!
Cheers!

Phone memory: 99 numbers, SIM: 200
Display is standard 3 rows of text, same as R310s

How is the back-light? Brighter as usually?

Iīd say itīs about the same as R310s, the buttons are barely visible in total darkness, but no big problem as you donīt miss them anyway due to size and generous distance between them
