So you say it is easier to handle the phone when there are 2 cables attached to it in 2 places instead of the 2 cables attached in 1 place = FastPort???

I use technology quite extensive and often have to send in broken stuff - but none of my friends or I who have phones with FastPort ever had a problem with it. Maybe these problems come from something else then the FastPort itself...

I also like convenience when I charge my phone - this is why I use a Bluetooth headset...

As all important manufacturers have agreed on MicroUSB as a standard for charging I guess there is a good chance that the FastPort will disappear at some point - even if I do not like this. But Satio will have FastPort only and criticizing it 1000 times more won't change a thing. And I think, this is good

Im simply replying to your posts otherwise i love Satio. S60 in a SE, talk about a dream come true, i was just pointing out the convenience of having seperate ports. Yes i dont mind multiple wires since they are at the top and bottom of the phone therefor not interfering anything and their connectors are nice and small unlike the big fastport but anyway lets lay that to rest.

I was not just scolding you
The good thing about FastPort is also the possibility of a DeskStand - then you have no ugly cables at all. Has it actually been stated if there comes one in the box?

so ok, i have held my tongue long enough.

SATIO looks pretty above average on paper, i hope that S60 V5 is good (i relly hope you can upgrade to S^2) but i digress.

im going to throw my two pennies in and see if we cant round off this dollar argument.

OLED of which i am a huge proponent, would go a long way to alleviate the size of the battery whenever we find out officially how large itll be. to the ppl that want to read it outside, you are blowing the matter out of proportion, how many TFTs can you see outside, the sheer fact that they are made to reflect the light that comes in negates your argument about TFT being better to read outside, we have seen the OLED devices and have compared them to the TFTs on the market today and its not a massive difference b.w hardly legible to maybe if i squint itll get better, fact of the matter is that BOTH TFT and OLED suck outside. now when i really need to see my phone i will make due, im not in some fantasy land where the sun follows me around everyday, and id like to add that im outside for at least 6hrs a day, where i need to use my phone. so with that background id GLADLY make the sacrifice for better composition of colors/refresh rates/resolution (yet to be achieved)/contrast AND BATTERY LIFE, for those who say it isnt significant, it is when you dont have to power a backlight and modulate its brightness level constantly. it is when a large percentage of power is being taken by that backlight, the radios take their fair share too esp GPS /WiFi.

3.5 mm jacks ... they have a hard time failing, i lost an 8gb microsdhc card on my K850i because the fastport has become loose in the past 2 months and my PC lost communication with the phone during mass storage mode ... and that story is for a different day. but if this phone is EU which it is, then i am limited by the headphones i can use, which is to say that the quality is lost by virtue of the number of connectors b.w the source and its reproduction (diaphragm/headphones). i would like to see a 3.5mm jack on the phone so that i can use my highend buds when im on a long trip. the wires are already long i dont need another 18"s hangin around me.

the video recording ... it has taken SE a GREAT, GREAT deal of time to get around to VGA recording so much so in fact that i thought they would forgo the one step at a time and just cut to something of a higher pixel density with a sensor of that magnitude. it is NOT exmor by the way.

if sony designed the phone it would have been exmor+bravia similar to the w61s, which STILL has a higher res than the SATIO on a MUCH smaller screen ... but they didnt because this was an ericsson venture. does anyone understand how this is possible? They need to sell phones but CONTINUE to ignore how much more advanced their own phones are over the competition outside of japan, its lunacy to think that a company who can create some gems would try again and really NOT stand out of the pack, its sad.

Cliffs Notes:
- OLED is now Viable, if SONY wants to beat SAMSUNG which they CLEARLY do or we wouldnt have had the 11" OLED TV last year, then they would do what is smart and push the tech out in their phones and call it a new brand and market the heck out of it so when they are ready to sell TV's they have a presence and a name (even if it turned to e-ink in the sun itd still be better)
- Higher Resolution Screen (800x480 ... 1024x768) old hat in japan (not xga, but wvga)
- Higher Than VGA recording should be expected at least give me some more frames to work with (120fps) give me some kinda treat, stop sandbagging the video.
- Designated Audio jack would cut down on failures than a one port for all uses but only one at a time deal.

You say TFT can't be read in sunlight, but my C905 is very easily legible in direct sun.

Indeed. Oled has the biggest flaw. TFT hands down wins in sunlight while Oled well its pretty damn hard.

I'm just making an educated guess here:

Aren't Sony's Exmor lens' specified as being 5.15, 8.11 and 12.25 MP? And since Satio has 12.1 MP camera, could we assume then that there indeed is no Exmor lens in Satio?

COMPLETELY agree with you as regards to the audio jack, thats exactly what ive been saying, and had the same problems. Majority of the time the fastport tends to disconnect and get loose over time and it needs to be cleaned a lot, i take good care of my phones, hardly use my K850 so it still looks and feels brand new, i used for a whole month while my Nokia was at the service center, and since i listen to music a lot over the weeks i noticed how the fastport needs attention, i cant even run with music coming from my K850 via headphones in my pocket cause the fastport disconnects but anyway whatever. this is Esato.

Deskstand? You can have that on NOKIA as well, not having a fast port doesnt mean you cant have a deskstand.

sorry to ask , but will it have Clear audio quality like my w705 and w980?
sorry if it has been already posted; I read some pages but couldn't see it.
THANKS
Beautiful phone!

Entertainment Unlimited phones are the 'all in one' devices, your 'walkman' and 'cybershot' combined so it should have the 'clear audio' software.

GUCCI.011: I suppose there are DeskStands for all upper class phones, but it would solve your problem with FastPort on the desk, would it not?
Just out of interest: Does the Nokia also have the stereo jack in the DeskStand when sitting on it?

my ninja: My G900 also ate a memory card with the first firmware when it was in USB mass storage mode. It was not a problem of a loose FastPort.

No one I know has problems with FastPort. They are not loose and they do not need to be cleaned. None of the 11 SE I and my girl used so far got broken in any way - what really was a problem is faulty firmware. But this is not SE exclusive, however I hope that Satio is better prepared for the end consumer when it finally arrives. And I really hope they do not repeat what happened to the last UIQ generation. Because when I understood correctly the next SF version is replacing the current Symbian at some point early next year. That would leave Satio in a difficult support position if they repeat it like with G900. Came out in May last year and when they dropped UIQ that was it, no new firmware after a few month on the market but still having a bag of issues. But on the Videos Satio already looks pretty stable.
