@kinc

You may find this link useful. It describes a way to make deletions from memory cards permanent and instant, without messing around!

To anyone using a card reader:

When you trash anything on a removable device, it remains in the device's Trash directory. You need to empty the trash before removing the card.

Hi - i've got a mac & a K700 - great combo. get online, send mp3s & photo's fine but..... How do I make a ringtone the phone can use? Can I turn an MP3 into a midi file?
Also, Is there a better way to sync entourage with phone as Salling's Mobile sync only seems to allow one phone no per contact meaning my 450 contacts will not fit into phone memory. Isync works better, but only with address book which is pants!

@peter freeman

The phone can use MP3 files as ringtones, so there's no need to convert from MP3 to MIDI!

Unfortunately you can't sync Entourage as smoothly as Address Book. But that's to be expected as Apple implement the Bluetooth iSync'ing they're bound to make it work best with Address Book. Personally I much prefer Address Book anyway. Give it a try!

The phone has enough space for 510 contacts. However, do you really need all 450 contacts with you at all times? Maybe you could just sync a subset of them?

@jools,

Mac and Entourage sync quite well, especially if you are using the newest version of MS Office. There is also a conduit (GoBetween) that works very well and I have had no problems at all. Address book is not so bad as well, but Entourage can compete in everyway except sending SMS's.

Unfortunately, that is additional software that you have to pay $24.95 for (http://www.pocketmac.net/products/gobetween/index.html) so its not quite as simple as using Address Book.

Also, have a look at the user reviews at VersionTracker. They're not that favourable. So I stand by my original comment that Entourage can't sync as smoothly as Address Book.

Thanks for your feedback guys - Unfortunately I am with Vodafone and they, for some reason known only to themselves, have disabled the use of MP3s as ringtones.
So back to my question - does anyone know how to change an MP3 file into a MIDI file? (on mac OS)
Also, I will check out "GoBetween" if I can find it.
Thanks

The link for "GoBetween" is in my previous post, above!

I'm not aware of any programs for the Mac that convert MP3/WAV to MIDI. I've heard there are some for the PC but they do a pretty terrible job...

@Jools

I do not mind paying for software. I do not believe in using warez or cracks or anything as such. It is hard enough for software houses to stay in biz without someone illegally using their software. As for GoBetween, I have not had any of the problems that people are talking about, and my syncs work out quite well. I do think that MS has a few problems with Entourage but I am sure that they will work this out. In the end, it is to each his or her own.

@sapporobaby

I don't mind paying for software either. I'm a paid user of PhoneAgent, Salling Clicker & GSM Remote for my phone alone. Nowhere have I suggested that anyone should use software illegally, so don't imply such things about me.

If you read my post carefully, all I said was that paying for, installing and configuring additional software is not as simple as using what comes as standard with your Mac, especially after reading some of the reviews on VT.

I'm glad that GoBetween works for you, however not everyone has been so lucky. I like people to have as much information as possible about a product before deciding to purchase, especially when a demo version is not available.
