Sorry man, i love my s700 and no i dont take my cybershot with me wherever i go! I guess i just dream for the perfect phone-camera all in one mp3 playing device! I get your point but the s700 is kinda a class on its own and it needs something to compare it with! I was infact making the point that some people expect the s700 to be a digital camera giving quality shots time after time which i have found to wrong. (the s700i camera is fairly eratic)
Amazin phone tho! Really glad i got mine!!!!!

I wasn't getting on you man. I'm glad you're enjoying your S700i, because i'm sure enjoying mine!

But all people have their expectations very high and then start comparing the pics.

The good thing about a camera phone is that you can take a pic to whatever happens in a particular moment that you don't expect, and you don't have your digi with you.

If i want to take PLANNED quality pics i get my Digi and start shooting.

wow... i must say.. S700 does hv a quality cam.... but is tat the original size or u guyz resize it?? and the blur thing as the object is far away... tats not really a big deal... thats wat they call autofocus which they focus on the main object than the far away ones... all movies use thoes techniques... i think u hv the option to focus on the near object or the far ones....

If the pic says "Esato Forum Picture" on the top left corner, then it's surely resized.
The forum doesn't allow big pics.

In all these debates about phonecams, digicams, picturequality etc.
One thing that is often forgotten is that alot of phonecam users lacks general knowledge of photography - they think it only depends on pixels and camera and expect the camera to do all the work. They completely lack knowledge of lighting, where to focus, angles, etc. etc. Spotting a good motive, knowing the limitations of the camera and taking that into account when desiding when and how to take the picture.

Taking good pictures is an art - that depends as much on the photographers skills as on the camera itself. Its not just mindlesly pulling out the camera from the pocket and pressing the button. A good picture is not only defined by size in resolution or pixels.

Thats one of the reasons we sometimes see really poor pictures and other times really good pictures from different people with the same device.

@themarques

Fun and satisfying, though sometimes tiring (6 flights a day, 0300 alarm clock and so on...)

I must say that after having a good look through a lot of the pages on this topic there are some excellent pictures which have been taken and posted here with the S700 ! Wish I had one !! Will have to save my pennies

I haven't read a full review yet for the S700 just an overview really and something I would be interested to know is, does the S700 have a panoramic mode ?

If so, anyone got any pictures they could post ?

Cheers

@marlonski
The S700i doesnt have a panaramic mode, although it would have been nice to have. Weird of to leave it out as it is more of a camera than the K700i and doesnt feature a simple thing like panorama.
