internet connection matters only during the first part of the update, when your phone is turned on and connected to the USB cable. it is during the 1st part the the firmware files are downloaded (two files).

The 'Master Reset'-Trick works for me.
I did the following;
Backup:
- Copy all contacts to my SIM-Card
- Copy all themes I put on the phone to my PC
- Removed my 1GB MemoryStick Pro Duo
Master Reset:
- Menu -> Settings -> Master Reset -> Reset All
- Enter code 0000
- The Phone said: "Memory Cleared" and restarts by itselfs.
- When it restarts, just turn it off.
Updating:
- Go to SE update site.
- Did the "Recovery Mode"-update
- It went till 39%, then it freezes for like a minute and went to 42%
- Then runs smoothly to around 60% and jumps to 100% and says it was 'Update Complete'.
- Remove battery and put it back
- Turn the phone on
- Do another Master Reset to get all languages back
Now the phone is working again with R1N and camera 4.5
Hi Sunnie,
When you backup your contacts, is there another way to backup contacts to the PC?
Also, when you do updating to the latest version, did you delete the downloaded file and start from a clean download? Or you just left the file in the software-data folder?
Thanks a lot

I think you can backup the contacts to your PC using that Sync-thingie which was included on the CD in the package.
There's a program called floAt's Mobile Agent, makes sync/backup contacts/sms messages/programs easier....
download from
http://prdownloads.sourceforg[....]-2.0-stable-setup.exe?download
After all the failed updates, i just left the downloaded firmware files in the folder and tried the master reset thing and it worked.
