You won't be able to get it replaced as it wasn't from O2. However, even without a receipt, a service centre can check if it's under warranty (it will be) and will repair it free of charge. If you're not sure where your nearest service centre is, SE will be able to tell you.

Also, just a little update on my 7th K850...

This is now my 3rd day of ownership and, other than the lose screen, it's great. The case is so solid (usually by this point it was a bit creaky) and I haven't had any software issues, despite being on R1CA029.

I'll get the screen sorted at a service centre in a few weeks or so. If the new software hasn't been made available on the SEUS by then, I'll also ask them to update the firmware.

Crikey, dust under the screen? loose screen? loose back cover?

Are all K850 owners suffering from this. I was going to get this until i read of all these problems.

@bav
seems many of the k850's suffering from these issues are the branded handsets. Have not seen many complaints about simfree/unbranded phones. My unbranded one was fine to be honest. I might have missed some complaints about unbranded handsets, though im sure those with issues on unbraned phones will let ya know.

I'm not sure there's a link there. All of mine have been SIM-free handsets and I've had the lose screen on nearly all of them.

Nope, I'm on T-Mobile but it's from the CPW, hence it's unbranded.
