Well, if UN is going to be as slow and indecisive as they have been the last few years we won't see anything happen in Iraq if they are in charge. I think we all agree that UN needs to shape up and go through a re-organization. We can't let 80% of the UN budget being spent on administration if something ever will get done.

nyk> you should be delighted then the peace process is under way again and Sharon has promised to pull out of the settlements. Hopefully it will not be undermined by the Hamas this time.

I hope that Israel and the people of Palestine can work everything out. I’m not very informed on this situation. But is all this aggression because the Palestinians want their own state? If so... I don’t see why they don’t give it to them. Anyway, as I said I’m not very informed on that whole situation.
As far as all this anti American stuff... All I can say is that the truth will be revealed soon. Whether the truth is that the US was wrong or right.
I also will say, in any conflict there will always be opposing sides and I think we are all adults so we shouldn’t result to name calling. Although I don’t agree with a lot of what NYK has said I value his opinions. I think it is good to get other opinions, and to try and understand where they are coming from.

@ amagab

Talking from both sides is really gr8, but we've bene at this place b4..

Sharon & Arafat arent willing to make painful concessions for Peace

Sharon wont allow Palestinian refugees in other Arab countries to return, and Arafat refuses to resign..

But I a do hope that this will B the beginning of Peace

Lets hope the US can use its powers for good... LoL

Nyk. I suspected all along that you were of middle east ancestry by your hatred remarks towards America. I an still convinced you are an idiot despite your claims of living in the middle east. You, like others, get excited on topics like this, go out and do searches on the net in order to try and become experts on topics that normally wouldn't have clue about. To me you are just another American flag burning hot-head. Take that towel off your head and chill dude. A year from now, you won't give a shit about any of this, and neither will I. One last thing. America did not threaten Syria. Since you claim to be an avid news reader, you would know that America issued a warning, not a threat. There is a difference which you obviously don't know about or you simply want to distort things as you have historically done in the past. This message was posted from a Nokia

@ diggy

Again you have no valid argument, and so you resort to name calling, very very mature for a .... 6 yr old ?

As for researching these topics, no, i know about most of them as they are Arabian History, as Im sure if u had an IQ of more than 20, ud know about ur country's history..

U resort to name calling because ur side of the argument is too weak to back-up, and so U feel the only way to think that ur winning an argument is to resort to name calling, just like a small immature child.

Here is something for u to think about

Major questions to the victorious Coalition:
1) Why aren't you maintaining law and order in Iraq?
2) Where are the weapons of mass destruction?
3) Would Saddam's mysterious fate resemble Binladen's?
4) Where are the future leaders of Iraq?

PS >> For such narrow-minded thinking, wher r U from ?

nyk> you are expecting too much too soon. The things you mentioned cannot be done overnight. Be aware that US did just enter Iraq last month and the combat has practically just ended. You can't do anything productive until the combat ends. As long as there are Iraqi snipers lurking around it will be hard for the Coalition to properly do their job.

-Restoring order in Iraq is very difficult because the Iraqi people does not trust the law (no surprise).

-Finding WMD is not as easy as one might think. It can be hidden anywhere in the country or it might have been taken across the borders into Syria or Iran. Iraq is a large country and the barrels can easily be hidden. However, yes, it is important for US to find some sort of WMD to support their invasion.

-It is too early to establish the future leaders of Iraq. The Coalition are talking to Iraqi people to establish an interim government. Then when things are under control there will be a democratic election to establish a somewhat democratic government.

There is no need to rush these things. Re-organizing a country takes a long time and does not happen over night. Just look at the problems Russia had after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

On the contrary

Iraq needs a leadership set-up ASAP.. Many of the hospitals are not able to help injured people, thousands will die unless help is given. Hospitals, to be set-up need government backing.. I truly wish that Iraq recovers, but lets take a look at good ol' Afghanistan.. Wher is it now ?
Outside of Kabul is wat Iraq is like now, no order, no gov't influence..
Karzai on TV stated, 'The US promised so much, and yet we have received nothing'.. This isnt very encouraging to B honest!

As for the WMD, the only thing that is dangerous in Iraq are is the US influence.. The US is now trying to claim Iraq smuggled weapons into Syria.. wtf???

To transport such large objects such as missiles, chemicals, you need large containers N large trucks, these r EASILY spotted on Modern technology, and should be no problem for the advanced US technology..
Weapons inspectors found nothing, I suspect the US will find nothing also... This is why Syria is needed, so that the US can claim they didnt find any WMD as it was 'taken to Syria'..

With all the spy technology the US has, it wud hav easily seen these being 'smuggled'..

Again the Big Q..

Y isnt the US going after Israel and its WMD ?
