Hi all,

sorry but this has to be one of the most pointless debates ever it really is this simple. There really is no right or wrong choice, there is only what each individual wants or needs and that is the right choice for him/her it really is that simple all this mines better than yours ,yours is rubbish is just pointless ramblings IMHO.
Just respect every ones right to choose what suits them best and stop comparing smart phones with non smart phones as that also makes no sense.

Oh and if you want to actually stick to the title that is easy. they suck because of late they have released phones that are not ready for market and encounter too many problems and any one that tries to deny that is deluded. Also just because some other manufacturer's also release products that have problems in no way mitigates what SE do and the other manufacturers should also be taken to task for their actions IMO.

Marc

I do agree with your balanced response dogman. I don't think SE are any worse than other manufacturers, but you are dead right that phone manufacturers gerenally tend to view early firmware releases as experimental

They all need to do way more testing before releasing to market.

However if you compare "firmware" to "computer software", I'd have to say computer software generally suffers far more from lack of testing than phone firmware

If they brought software to market the way MS brought Live One Care to market, NO ONE would buy mobile phones, it just wouldn't be worth the hassle

This thread speaks a lot about nokia's superior functionality... no one can deny that...

aatuif, What do you expect? Nokia is the number one leader in the mobile phone industry - it has to live up to its status. SE are developing phones based on what most customers need, and we mobile phone geeks dont cover their full agenda. I admit there are several points that need work (video for example, QCIF is ridiculous even in a midrange phone), but right now, SE are getting good results with what they are offering. Nokia can afford to please everyone, look at their huge market share! Unfortunately SE cant do that.

wtf???

How the hell does this thread prove anything? It's completely one sided. Go to some Nokia forums and see the bitching about firmware problems there, you'll see they are no different to SE or any other OEM.
