Seems to me they just don't want to risk you doing a runner, their current terms & conditions apply to the point of sale & the 12month contract period.
That £150 deposit is being used to worry people, but if its in writing that you get it back then YOU GET IT BACK.

Well if the money was borrowed from a bank it would cost less than £15 per phone in interest, so it could be worked in to the figures as a pre profit expense,
or i might be tempted to ask for them to pay a reasonable rate of intrest on the money they are holding of yours for a year.
I am interested in how maany ccontraacts they let you have before they decided to ask for a "£150 returnable deposit".

i've never checked this but just wondering if you decide to "Pay off" a contract, do you have to pay the 12 payments at the Original plan rate or at the one you have reduced to, if its the later, it would be an easy way to reduce the number of contracts in one name, i THINK its the Original agreed monthly plan rate though.

I have an Orange OVP Virgin sim as my main sim, but they only convert to OVP Virgin after 12 months on contract, although they used to let you convert earlier but it meant paying £10 a month subsidy to them, i'm not sure they even do this now but even if they do,its same price as CSD.
