Route 66 working perfectly on P910i with Globalsat BT-338. Excellent software although haven't worked out how to get the voice directions to come through my bluetooth headset. Bluetooth voice calls whilst connected to gps work fine. A bit annoying that it doesn't tell you what exit to take at roundabaouts, more "After 100 yards turn left" instead of "At second exit turn left". Also I've already found the maps are out of date in two locations where I was driving in Scotland at the weekend.
Voice instructions via BT headset is not possible. P910i does not support that!

I am just trialing Wayfinder, and the speaker volume is very low - can't hear it when driving, even though it is at max volume. The phone is in the SE P910 holder which may be blocking the rear speaker.
Is the volume from route66 just as low, and what is the best way to improve the sound volume?

Sound volume is ok with Route66 and better with TT. I have driven
with R66 today and do not like it. Sorry, it is not package. But that
is due to something, which I am not a lot to speak about

MR,
You do not like route66, but it is not because of the software itself?
Why can you not let us know the reason? Maybe it will help others that are about to decide to buy route66 or wait for TT...

Having spent a few days using this package I was perhaps a little harsh on the location finding screen - by entering partial postcodes it works a lot better i.e. enter BR1 high street would find Bromley High Street straight away.
After initially failing to download at the first few attempts the traffic information service now seems to be working fine too.
There is a serious issue with voice instructions on the approach to roundabouts. Whilst the onscreen graphics always show the correct route the voice instructions invariably tell you to turn left even if you're going right. It treats the circumference of the roundabout as a road instructing you for example to "turn left after 100 yards" this being the distance around the roundabout until your exit.
This badly needs improving to the more useful "take the third exit" type instructions on other systems. I have noticed on browsing the R66 website that they did issue a software update for the Nokia S60 version to correct this. Hopefully coming soon for UIQ.

Does Wayfinder get the roundabout thing right?
If folks who have tried both wayfinder and route66 were to make a decision now, which one would you go for?

Route66 is OK, but the moving map shutters to much during driving. The Traffic information/part of the application is not great. The voice instructions are too weak and it is only 1 voice. I do not like the warning I get eachtime a made a turn. It then gives my the warning: Keep on the road until further notice (or something). Next to that it is filled with bugs. The implementation with call handling is not superb. I made a call to somebody and during the call the application did not came back. Any idea what a nice siuation that gives when you are having a call of at least some minutes and driving in a dence city surrounding. A warning that the sound is switched off during call is also not given when a call comes is in and is handled.
Also the GPS connection goes rather strange. The difference between the fact there is no GPS and no GPS receiptance is not great. When I planned a route it gave me the warning NO GPS. No GPS receiver or No GPS receiptance???? I did not have a clue so checked my GPS receiver, which had a fix but the application was not ready. After a second or two the application started and it still indicated NO GPS but started calculating.
I also made a route back home yesterday. I drove on the highway and
decided to have some snack. I went of the highway and took my own
route to the Mc Donalds. It took Route66 more than 3 KM before it even rerouted my route back home from the position I was. And I think it was due to the fact that I was standing for a traffic light that it was capable of rerouting my route. Rather strange!
I worked with a lot of navigation package, Route66 for S60, TT for S60, Wayfinder for UIQ, Route66 for UIQ and EnginYoy (a dutch package only for holland). There is one package which I really love and that TT for S60. I know, because I have worked with it, that TT will show the same on UIQ. Route66 is OK, I would buy it now because it is better than Wayfinder for navigation if you want to navigate on moving maps and because TT is not yet on the market. If you need a package for navigating right now, buy Route66. My opinion wait until TT comes to the market.
