@mib1800 & dave_uk

I suppose I should actually say something here. First of all I am well aware of what mib1800 is trying to say, which I disagree with. I can very much accept the fact that Nokia smartphones are moving into a more mainstream role for the company, not only do I accept it, but I actively encourage it. Where I disagree with mib1800 is in the amount of importance I place upon smartphones as an overall component of the market as well as the importance customers will place on such products. Personally I would like to see the majority of customers, if not all, buying smartphones, however, I believe that this will take some time to be realised.

I thank you both for providing me with a rather entertaining few minutes as I read over your discussion of what I do and do not think.

@dave_uk

Less of the 'Old Scotty' if you don't mind.

@asterix - I guess you just have to INCLUDE the FEATURES as well here mate . . . Just like, say, the camera, majority of the 'discerning' buyers now are after that feature for a fone . . . As for a vintage/classic example . . . I guess more will buy the SE T610 than that of the T230

Sorry I forgot that, many of that compulsive consumers do want camera on phones, regardless of resolution or quality, so now that should be standart feature on mid level phones.

Anyway, on sub developed countries like mine, T230 is a hit, because it is a good phone and is cheap.

Not too many can afford a T610 or K700, so consumers go for a low/mid level phone regardless of camera or more features, as long as it can send SMS/MMS and can connect to internet everything is ok.

I can´t live with a phone without BT and IR, but we're living the SMS fever so that's what counts for the majority of customers on Perú.

So goes here in Manila dude . . . people are SMS freaks ! More are using this feature (cheap) rather than the very basic USE of the fone which is - CALL !
