Does anyone know how can i use my HBH-30 with my laptop (IBM ThinkPad A31p, bulit-in bluetooth, WinXP Pro) so i can listen to music and use it as a microphone? Thanks!
It has been done before. Just visit either tread for MSI bluetooth or Billionton bluetooth. You probably need to manually install Voice gateway to the bluetooth folder following a similar instruction posted at

Look for a file call btaudio.sys (if available)
Hope this will help

I used to have the HBH-20 with the T68 and the names came out fine. Now that I have gotten the new T68i with the HBH-30, the caller names come out periodically. So does the voice answer commands such as "Accept" and "Busy".
All these happened even after upgrading my T68i's software to the most recent one in Malaysia (R2F004).
Aside from the voice commands, does any of you have problems such as the following?
- Phone says "Bluetooth connection lost" and the line just gets cut off
- At times, the Voice Answer commands does not activate when there is an incoming call

for my info. u can only use ya caller bluetooth when ya bluetooth set to "on"
the caller dialling need to to record using the phone and not the handsfree kit. (bluetooth can not record dialling)
the caller name will only voice out when u had already recorded the voice.
and finally if this don't help u. u can upgrade ya bluetooth headset software. check out with ya respective sony ericsson dealer.

all8, thanks for the pointer on btaudio.sys. I followed the instructions and was able to get sound to play on my HBH-30, however the microphone function isn't working. I've set the microphone device to BlueTooth Audio, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
Back to the original topic of getting caller's name, I now periodically get the caller's name. I have not made any changes to my settings, so I guess it depends on conditions like BT signal strength, headset distance and etc.
Thanks all for your help!

FYI.
Just upgraded from R2B to R5C.
I used to hear the names of the bluetooth but not anymore.
Have tried lots of settings and even the ones mentioned here.
I listened to the name just once, hang up, redialed and couldn't listen to it any more.
So if anyone finds a solution let us know...

Yes you can hear from the bluetooth headset who's calling.
It seems that is a bug that doesn't exist in the R2x versions..
I can confirm that it is working on T68 with R2B and a T68i with R2B.
Unfortunately after my upgrade to R5C it doesn't work anymore.
The HBH-30 just rings and doesn't say the name first.
If I use just a plain handsfree (with a wire I mean, not bluetooth) you can hear the name with both versions which is normal.
IT IS NOT NORMAL not to hear the name on the HBH-30 before it rings.
It has to be reported to SE so that it will be fixed in a newer version.
