I ultimately resolved the joystick problem. are you sure? if this is verified, i'm gonna flash it one more time w/o doing master reset.

@ fEArmE

you should mind ur language you can't blame anyone for sharing his own experience with you I just told you guys whatever I experienced, I'm not trying to misguide anyone I just told how my phone behaved after I reflashed because after upgrading it for the first time I did a master reset & then this problem developed so I reflashed it again yesterday, I did that actually to get the original files back which were erased after master reset but fortunately after that the joystick & bluetooth were working fine the only difference was that I didn't do master reset after upgrading this time.

1. It appears that not all phones have a problem with the new firmware. e.g Some have upgraded and have had no problem with file transfer/memory stick corruption.

2. Dust can also cause similar joystick problems. It is possible that some users are experiencing problems due to dust. This does not rule out the possibility that some other users may be having joystick problems due to the firmware.

3. I can confirm that after I upgraded to the new firmware, my joystick has a tendency to go down and left when I press down. I find it interesting that most users have had problems with the down-press. To test whether or not it was due to something mechanical (i.e. whether or not it had to do with the shape of my hand and the way I apply pressure differently when pressing down, rather than up) I held the phone upside down, with the same result (pressing "up" now tended to go up and right.) Incidentally, right also has some problems, but not as bad as down.

4. I hate, hate, hate this firmware. And SE sucks for not acknowledging this problem and fixing it pronto.

5. Could someone please summarize for me the improvements that have been experienced with the new firmware?

after I removed the shortcuts to the joystick, as somebody suggested in another thread, the downpress problem was solved, but in my case, for only about half the time. so i still occassionally "pressed" the joystick instead of it going down the list of menus. i didn't want to reflash, or do a master reset, so i did a RESET SETTINGS. Eventually, the joystick problem was no longer a problem for me. no more presses instead of downwards. though the right direction seems unresponsive at times, very very seldom. for those who've had the same problem as mine, maybe you could do a reset settings.. only the settings will be lost so i think it's good enough for most people.

My joystick has also been acting funny since the upgrade. I think mine had R1L before and there were hardly any problems with it. Se must be able to realise whats going, i dont understand why dont they fix all the problems and give us a nice bug free firmware? I hate typing on this psp!

I can confirm it too, after the update the joystick as become realy weird, first i tought it was f**k** , but then again it was after the upgrade, and then I saw this thread and now I'm sure it's the firmware.
