@mrao, precisely why I think most that left the Pseries will return. All the new phones have quality photo ability like the K750 and with the new UIQ3; its assumed 1 handed operations will be close for most routine functions (sms/mms/phone calls/photos/reviewing Notes,Calendar,ToDo); but movies and data entry full-open naked P990i style.
i agree wholeheartedly

"While I have used Series 60 phones and can confirm that they are good, they do not meet my needs in terms of functionality. But they meet the needs of many others who are perfectly satisfied with them." U know, the ppl u talk about really don't know what is symbian and what's so special about it. These r the ppl that can use anything...being good or less good in term of usability.

I do like that the P990 will have most functions accessible with one-handed flip-closed. That's something I always wished I could do with P910. Maybe I am just getting bored with the interface (UIQ 2). I think I will pass on W900 and wait for P990. Hopefully UIQ 3 will be impressive and the looks of the phone will grow on me by then.

The P800 which i have now is really driving me nuts, just to send an sms it takes me through a fucking lot me options, i really miss my k500i, i would be going for non smart SE phone soon, it is not that i hate the P800, i love it, i would have loved to keep it as a second phone, but i really cant afford two phones right now, when i have purchasing power, i will definitely go for a p series as a second phone and then switch by using two phones, but not right now.

I am not certain how accurate that is. From experience with users, it seems that most people want their phones to look and function to what they are used to. Series 60 gives them that familiar interface, even though its a smartphone. They do not have to go into a steep learning curve to use it, UIQ is so different...
Think about it, most car owners/users could not be bothered whether the engine is a BMW 3.0 or SAAB 4.5 so long as it looks and functions like a regular car.
But we are going off-topic; aren't we?
