My personal experience with the K750 in light mode is that indeed there is noise to be seen in dark backgrounds. That is due to the internal software automatically cranking the gain on the little sensor to ISO 800 which generates noise. I can see noise out of my Nikon D70 when I crank the ISO to 1600+ but again - that's to be expected. One way to reduce this effect is to use the night mode. The camera tries to slow down the shutter (1/10 - 1/5) in order to let more light in instead of turning up the ISO. Only issue is - you have to have VERY VERY Steady hand to get a good well focused pic that way.
And as far as all this CCD is better then CMOS talk. That's really getting old. Lest we forget that Sony is the manufacturer of the Nikon D2x CMOS 12.1 MegaPixel censor? Or that they just released a new 10MP camera also using CMOS? Or that Canon has been using CMOS sensors for all of their DSLR cameras? And when anyone tells me "Oh - but these are professional cameras you can't compare them" all I have to say is - Do you REALLY think that Sony has not gained ANY knowledge on how to make high quality CMOS censors when they devloped the 12mp and 10mp censors? Do you think that they have not applied this knowledge when designing the sensor for the K750?

Just play around a little bit with the settings and practice untill you get better results. The camera in the K750 is quite good.
www.mobileburn.com got a much more comprehensive camera comparison between N90 and K750/W800 as well, and the reviewer chose the K750 over N90.

the 1st picture was taken by R1A, the 2nd and 3rd ones was taken by R1L. they were really two phones actually. the R1A belongs to my boyfriend, the R1L is mine.
IMO, R1A takes pictures better.
