i dont know... i live close to the beach (on both sides of me there are beaches! its florida! lol). there are MANY people who would use this in the wrong way. EVERYONE is wearing tight swim-suits and everything... but then again, there are MANY places where this couldnt be used alot, because people dont wear the right clothes for it to work. but if they can make this work... im sure they can make it better somehow :-\

hmm its an interesting concept... but whats the slaes pitch going to be????

Only buy it if u want to take pictures with "objects" that are covered in "tight materials"

translation: Only buy if u wanna take pics of chicks in swim suits

Its stupid for mass marketing but im sure some ppl will try and get hold of it anyway

Gah, we were all born naked anyway! Freedom to romp through the countryside, with your nackers out! Thats what we should be! Clothes are the shackles of modern-day society, they are the reason we have wars, drought, and perverts. If nobody wore clothes, there would be no perverts!!!

It's a bit nippy out there at the moment to be walking around au naturel though? Brrrrrrrr

@50

I think the developers are looking more at marketing the other capabilities rather than peeping at lady's bits. There's quite a bit on the site about how it reveal text on badly damaged or stained bits of paper, for example.

seriousley, you really are right. and everyone would be more alike. it sounds dumb, but if you think of it, @meths has a point. i have thought about it before too. there would still be "high class" "middle class" and "low class", but it wouldnt be to the extent that it is now.

back on topic... on the "demo x-ray pics" site that @axxxr posted, experiment #2 was a little weird to me. the ink, i cant believe that woudl actually work. if they let it dry some, then it couldnt work... could it?
and in number 3... the girls lipstick looks funny

If it was generally available in the average consumer's hands governments would jump on it.

A good analogy is the silencing of camera sound. In most countries it is illegal now to offer a camera phone for sale with silent camera. This is because of the prevalence of these devices. Before they were common no government gave a shit.

You can get around it in most cases (example flash with davinci to a region cda that supports silencing the camera) but the average consumer is just stuck with a noisy camera.

IR pass thru filters are readily available, but if they start to come built in to camer phones (ie not just for professional equipment) then they will no doubt be banned for camera phones like ailent shutters have been.

Imagine the laughs you would have with this.

However, it would be potentially dangerous and especially useful to pickpockets and muggers etc.
