I'm glad both of you guys managed to update the phone. It was a major headache for me trying to update until I found out this "simple" thing SE doesn't mention.

In device manager what category does it "briefly" show up in?
I've been trying all afternoon to sort this out, im currently installing the SONY CD that came with the phone onto a Win2k SP4 laptop, then try it the normal way, then im going to try your cunning "trick"

First off you need the K750 disc that comes with the phone that has Sony suite on it. Install it on computer. Re-boot. Leaving disc in drive connect phone to PC via cable, windows will search for drivers and install several from disc. When finished re-boot. Install SEUS and re-boot if not on already. Follow instructions making sure to remove SIM and memory card before starting process.
