You have to realize that that church in particular teaches a very staid, safe, politically correct message. Anythin that they deem out of the ordinary, or that differs from their way of life, obviously is going to upset them. Thats why they go to church, to "protect" themselves from other ways of life. Its sad but true, the church is not the welcoming, open minded place it should be, it has turned into a little clique of people who don't even realize that they are bigoted, narrow minded, and ignorant*

*Maybe a gross generalisation, but, due to the article, justified i think.

I think that depends on the church you visit. Not all churchs are that unwelcoming.

well said, like the word clique.... but i do not go against any one that goes to church, i feel that if they want to go and learn more they have the right.

It is only when they beleive what the guy in the front says too much and starts becoming similar to a cult. Where no one challenges anymore, they rather just nodd their heads and say "***" the end..

I have always challenged what people say, even though i might agree or dissagree with them, but an open coversation teaches alot more to those that are willing to listen than a closed one, IMHO...

What’s the difference between a cult and a religion?

nothing in my view.

Some cults are open minded and some are bigotted, just like some churches. A cult is just a religion that some other religion doesn't like...

@joebmc

thats a good question...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

CULT:
In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (often a relatively small and new religious movement) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream. Its marginal status may come about either due to its novel belief system or because of its idiosyncratic practices.

In common usage, "cult" has a negative connotation, and is generally applied to a group by its opponents, for a variety of possible reasons.

RELIGION:
Sometimes used interchangeably with faith or belief system—is commonly defined as belief concerning the supernatural, sacred, or divine; and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions and rituals associated with such belief. In its broadest sense some have defined it as the sum total of answers given to explain humankind's relationship with the universe. In the course of the development of religion, it has taken many forms in various cultures and individuals. Occasionally, the word "religion" is used to designate what should be more properly described as "organized religion" – that is, an organization of people supporting the exercise of some religion, often taking the form of a legal entity (see religion-supporting organization). There are many different religions in the world today.

--------------------------------------------
As you can see not much! Cult is a religion that entertain "Goths" supposed bad people of this world, but i feel that there really should not be a barrier between these two as the worship of one persons God could be seen as the practise of a Cult.

Lookup occult in wikipedia.com... Sums up very nicely that it is simply the study of a deeper spiritual reality that cannot be understood using pure reason or material science. This is occult, so by this definition can we assume that religion is an Occult? Therefore Cult from the meaning above is worship of unkown and Religion as well from the defintions is also worhips of know that these are in fact the same. Occult?

I do not intend to harm any ones ideas and beleifs in the writing of thes and if i have a do apologise profusely. I beleive in all...

That is the biggest pile of *bleep* I have read in a long time. It reads like it was written by puritans. In fact, due to the fact it has 'Was Salam right' on the top of it, it probably was. If this is some kind of joke, it really isn't a good one.

I must admit though, the chick looked pretty hot

So as cults and religions are pretty much the same thing the author looks like its saying anyone who’s not Christian is bad. This is not how Christians are.

So I would strongly recommend anyone reading this crap to just ignore it.

Yes.

Don't anyone dare call Christianity bad, because it's just a biased opinion.

Christians, after all, are some of the kindest people i have met

they have, in the past, initiated some of the most amazing charities, hospitals etc. etc.

Im not with the COE, im not a catholic, methodist or anything. Im someone that has a belief.

Do you think ive never been mortal off my head?
