My first meeting with ebay was a hell. Bought a z800 from a UK seller who didn`t ship the item.

Luckily for me I paid with paypal, and two months later got a full refund.....

But after that, all has gone well. Over 300 transactions, and no problems whatsoever.

As the previous posters have mentioned, it`s wise to the homework on the seller. Check feedback, which items he has sold, and stay away from western union as an option to pay...

I normally check out peoples negative feedbacks, as sometimes they can be from other people who are being vengful.

I find eBay to be generally OK to buy from, but selling on...thats a different story. I sold my brothers phone on eBay and some guy is trying to do me over..and hard...he gonna try and scam me out by doing a buyer complaint to paypal...just wondering tho - if I have 0.00 GBP balance in my PayPal account, can they still pull funds out of my bank acc to refund the scamming ass?

Yep i'm sure they can, your paypal acount will simply show as a minus figure until you put/recieve more funds.

This happened to a mate of mine, sold a phone, buyer paid with a dodgy account, my mate, transfered the cash to his bank account.

Then paypal reversed the transaction, leaving him with a minus figure.

I trusted eBay and had loads of transactions on there. However did get scammed by a charge back complaint through PayPal and got shafted big time.

Since then have used it to browse but very weary of using it.

Problem is i backed eBay to the hilt and laughed at everyone who said it was a scammers paradise....until of course it happened to me....

I think alot of the guys on here have plenty of advice and more to the point wise.

I'm hoping it's not just about to happen to me....

Sold a phone to a zero rated bidder in France, and I'm hoping he's not a chargeback scammer! He has paid via Paypal, I posted the phone yesterday, am hoping he's legit! Sent it registered mail, even had a bit of extra insurance up to the value of the phone just in case.

After almost six months as a member on eBay, I bought my first item three weeks ago, it finally arrived on Saturday and I'm pleased.

Like posters before me...check for positive feedback and always be in contact with the seller....The guy who sold me the jacket was in Korea so I asked him for a tracking number of the parcel.
