yes. the only effective way to use the k750 as a tv remote is to use the hid editor to create a bluetooth remote control hid for your tv application on a computer (or check out remotej too)

Eish People this made me laugh big time.
Anyway according to my knowledge MIDP2 (Supported by K750) doesn't have IR API so not application can control IR. And as they have already said the range is short.

I get the impression you can use the obex file transfer api as long as IR is already turned on. MIDP cannot activate/deactivate IR itself.
But I'm not 100% sure about that.

what is the point
where is the joy in using a K750 to change a channel? why not just pick up the remote control? it certainly is a bit sturdier and wont break if you drop it. i cant understand these threads, maybe my 'se fanatical genes' have left me.

I have lost my TV remote control and it would have been convenient to have an alternative to switch on my tv and change channels.
Since we are controlling winamp with phone why not TV?
