I don't want to fuel the flames, and I'm not an expert on legal matters over there in Europe, but I'd like to point out the following:
1- Breach of contract, however it may occur, is definitely not "illegal" in any any of our countries.
2- Operators offer discounts on phones simply as an incentive to sign a contract, through which they earn an even bigger profit.
3- No part of the phone actually belongs to the operator and the consumer may do anything he/she wishes with the phone.
Having said that, I fully respect laffen's decision to remove content which may endanger this wonderful forum because of the restrictive and immoral laws in his country!

I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but here you are not committed to using the handset for 12 months when you sign a contract, you are just committed to keeping the contract going (and paying the charges).
You can do what you like with the handset, including unlocking it, selling it, even renting it out...

@jnonhoffzieg
i fully agree, there is nothing illegal about posting coments and information about unlocking your mobile phone as it is indeed YOUR mobile phone, the phones are yeh subsidised by the sp's but what do you think all that line rental pays for !?!? u really think theres a need for line rental hmph ?!?! costs r recovered through line rental so as call time etc = pure profit !!
i do agree with laffen about wanting to protect himself - all i could suggest is perhaps a rewording of the disclaimer, maybe to say to protect the integrity of esato such comments will be rmeoved from esato rather than the now obviously wrong statement that unlocking your phone is illegal - this may solve everyones issues..... laffen !?!?!
