@Victor017. Walkman branded handsets don't have the lens cover as they are not imaging orientated.

That's the theory anyway!!

Yeah I know. I read that on another thread. But it's kind of dumb, isn't it? Just because the W line is more 'music oriented' does that mean it is ok for the lenses to get scratched ???

yea.. i agree with you... just because of lil W sign they will disregard the care for lenses.. and the function it brings with it... slide and shoot.

its kinda like sounding the other company.. NOKIA... they dont give everything to a product...

well its not too much to ask isnt it?

there will no doubt be enough non-walkmen phones soon which will have active lense covers. I'm guessing the K750 update will have one. We should see a 3G phone like the W900 and an EDGE like the W810 in non walkman guise soon.

Other things that got fixed after being reported here and on other forums - loudness of speaker and headset when listening to mp3's, bluetooth security ask once permissions, and video quality, all fixed in R1N or R1AA.

well whoever is reading this if you can, please try and hurry up with the p990 cos too many phones have wifi now and SE is lagging behind and missing out on the dough and letting it go to nokia and i-mate etc. And while your at it I hope you got paid MAJORLY by vodafone for making the white w900 exclusive to them for however long it has been since it was "released" since they look rubbish and your making me suffer having to wait for a nice decent unbranded one on a decent network, and lets be honest who really gives a monkeys about video calling? so don't give me the excuse (not that i'm expecting any reply to this but anyway...) that u wanted to promote 3g services and expand se's market share in the 3g sector since i can almost give it to you in writing you would have sold more if you properly released the BLACK handset on 02 because they are only going up up and away...whereas vodafone are in trouble (why couldn't u at least make the black exclusive to o2 and the white to vodafone?). glad i got that off my chest!

if boys r reading this....

pls bring down the prices of ur mobile phones, memory cards and also be the first in the industry to pamper us with ur technology that envies other brand mobile phone users.we dont mind which global position u guys stand...just make ur customers the KING.

They'd be very poorly advised to reduces their phone prices afterall makes margins that most other phone manufacutuers can only dream about and this all helps to put money back into R&D and higher quality manufacturing and parts.
strategy has typically been to focus on the high margin premium end of the market and this has helped to give them the high quality reputation they have.

Besides from a purely snobbish point of view I also like the fact that in general you pay a premium for phones - gives them more of an air of exclusivity.

what i feel is that when a new phone is launched, its priced steep.but after a year, the price becomes almost half of the launch price.when i bought my K700,i paid Indian Rs 21,000.now the price is Rs 8,500.this price drop simply makes us feel cheated(i have talked to atleast 3 people in this forum who feel the same about their K700).cant they make a price structure like in the this case,if the launch price was Rs 15,000,i wont have cared for the price drop.they could also have sold more number of the phone thus balancing off the low price.also they should not have reduced the prices so drastically when newer model are launched.
these reasons has made me put off my next purchase.

I know of one company that hourly gather information from the Esato forum, analyze it and sell this information to companies like It is software agents that do the dirty work (fetching the data) and analyze the data.

We do not get paid for this. And if we did not let them have the data, they would probably find it elsewhere.
