I am not defending all that Israel does.......quite clearly they are also culpable for many wrong-doings...........however, this is a nation that was born after the many attrocities committed against the jewish race.
I sometimes wonder how we in England would act ( or react) to any threat against us ( real or perceived) if we had been the victims of a concerted attempt to eradicate us as a race as the Germans tried to do with the Jews.
Isreal percieves itself as being surrounded by enemies intent on eradicating it as a nation but they also have the right to exist.
We in England..........as much as i love my country.........cannot possibly criticise such a young nation as Israel when we ourselves have been capable of and have commited such attrocities ourselves. ( India.......South Africa......Kenya etc)
The palestinians have a right to exist also..........but it is worrying that a recognised terrorist organisation is now in control of palestines future.

Thats democracy for you...The people of Palestine have chosen hamas to lead them so why can't everyone accept that?....Hamas are percieved as terrorists because they are defending the interests of their lands which Israel has illegally occupied..i dont see that as terrorism..Israel is the one thats the terrorist for stealing palestinian land,..and trying to erradicate the people of palestine from its own country...Israel has a right to exsist also but they should not inflict suffering to achieve that..the Holocaust should have taught the jewish people that oppression is not the answer.

Palestinians chose hamas because they want change. All these "peace talks" are not changing the fact that palestinians are starving, deprived of access to their own land by walls built to ensure that israel has the fruit of the land and palestine has nothing, not even acces to water. The israeli's tax palestinians, then say "we won't give you that tax money because you elected someone we don't want to deal with". They make them pay for water they could have free without the walls. They cannot farm effectively, they cannot even go to school sometimes because of restrictions on movement.

Seriously, if any single Israeli lived in palestine with palestinians for any length of time, they would realise how bad it is and would be demanding their own government bring down the walls and do something about the palestinian plight.

It's all very well for Israeli's to act as if they are persecuted by the arabs, but yet Israeli's aren't starving, they don't have difficulties educating their children, they have massive aid to prevent their economy calapsing, they have access to the best natural resources in the area and palestine has nothing.

The only sad part about the hamas victory, is that they don't actually have enough military power to do anything about israel, and for the safety of their people they need to restablish peace talks with Israel, so that eventually they can glean some hope. War will only bring more devestation to Palestine. If they had a hope in defeating Israel I'd be right behind them. As it is it's hopeless.

Nevertheless, untill Israel stops building walls to separate Palestinians from Palestinian resources (figurative as well as literal walls), Palestinians will continue to fight. I can't really blame them. If I was Palestinian I would join hamas myself.

If Israel gave Palestinians more land, more freedom, more access to their own resources, then the people of Palestine would grow and prosper and then no one will want war.

In that region of the world, there will always be war, regardless......

I remember my Grandad (born in 1906) said to me then (when I was about 9) that it will be the END of the World when all the Israelites go back to their Mother Land - Israel!

@reo, I agree with what dealer3 says - tell the children it doesn't have to be this way.

But if you are right and war is inevitable for ever, then Palestine might as well make a good fight of it. You see what I mean? When it is believed that there can be no option other than war, then it might as well be all out war.

This is the problem, both sides believe they have to either fight with whatever primitive means necessary (suicide bombing) or maintain control through force and deprivation to ensure peace. Neither has worked yet and won't ever achieve peace that way.

It will take the Israeli and Palestinian youth of today, who hate the outcomes of war more than they hate or fear the enemy, to make a difference.

Armageddon

Armageddon (AR-ma·GED·don), the mount of Megiddo, according to the New Testament book of Revelation, is once again to host one of the world's major armies in a immense conflict between East and West (Revelation 16:16). The idea of Megiddo being the venue of humanity's apocalyptic finale, the "final" battle in this war called the "Battle of Armageddon", is a misnomer. The actual battle is to occur at Jerusalem and called "the war of the great day of God, the Almighty" (Revelation 16:14 NASB) or the "Battle of That Great Day of God Almighty" (KJV).

while the palestinians r throwing stones israel is firing rockets at them. suicide bombing is not an option but a desperate measure adopted by hamas in retaliation for all the rockets fired at them. for this they get labelled as a terrorist organisation.
when america was attacked afghanistan was bombed. if retaliation is terrorism then in that case even uncle sam is a terrorist organisation.

I really feel for the children as well. Palestian children grow up with the idea that Jews are the enemy, Jewish kids grow up being told that Palestinians are the enemy. It is all very sad. I saw a documentary sometime last year, (I think it was on BBC or Channel 4) where they followed Israeli and Palestinian children. They started off having very negative feelings about each other but by the end of the programme once they had actually met, they totally got on. When it came time for them to leave and go back home, it became very emotional as they had obviously become good friends. I have to admit, I did shed a tear. What people have to understand here is that it's the ZIONISTS who have hijacked Judaism, just like there are some corrupt muslims who have hijacked Islam for their own f***ed up political cause. I have nothing but hatred for these people as they cause nothing but a violent division between their people. Remember, ZIONISM and the stupid british govt made the problem back in the 1940's

Here is a very insightful site:
