Mine says "Optimized charging" too!!!! but it stays Switched-on... Try again...If the problem remains ..return it to your mobile retailer.

Maybe smart charging and ericsson optimized charging are one and the same thing? I mean this is the case. Just a small difference in language file. (there are several language versions for each sw edition!)

Another question about charging:
If you start to charge while phone is on, a message "Ericsson smart charging" appears and if it is off, "charging only" appears?

What`s the difference, is it better to charge your phone when it is off or on???

Hello Lexus, When you turn your phone off it say´s "only charging" because it is, only charging, and not turned on. But the way of charging is E/// smart charging.

If you would connect a non original battery, it would say "Charging, alien battery" and the phone would take about 14 hours to charge. (No smartcharging in that case)
For your other q, it was already answered by someone else, If you use Li-polymer (and you do) you´ve got nothing to worry about.

Sorry guys, I made a mistake. It is actually "Optimized charging", not "smart" (guess I am not smart either ).

So, what`s the verdict? Is it better to switch it off while charging or not???

yes it is better to turn the phone off during charching, after a low time (6months , or maybe not) the phone can lose some of his colours. i'm not joking!!

and my phone is still good, the colours the battery and no sotware problems. but is wanne uprgade to nwe software soon

sorry but it is totaly bull that the screen/display looses his color....
because of charging ?
come on...do you know anything about electronic ?
what would be the technical reason for this...
my good....why to people believe such stuff..
what you think why more and more manufacturer use li ion or poly batteries in there products ?
the advantages are clear....
it doesnt have to be considered to charge the phone on or off...how long do the most peoples own there phones ? 2 years ?
sooo who really cares to much about it
