I agree with Dogmann. I use the latest firmware as well and I support his view that the stability has improved a lot compared to the earlier versions. Still not completely bug-free, but much, much better compared to the versions referred to in the earlier posts.
I switch to flightmode and back twice a day and sometimes experience a sudden restart (once every 3-4 weeks). No big deal.
Give the one you have a try and make sure you have or install the latest firmware... Enjoy!

I have had this phone since about June and I will agree that it is dramatically improved in recetn firmware updates. Big difference. Its well worth buying now. I wouldnt have said that at the beginning.

I can't even remember the last time I had an issue with my M600
I'm actually using it as much, or perhaps a little more, than my TyTN!
its a great little phone

I think that the main problems were due to the original firmware and networks' branding.
I know for one thing, that Three in Australia, might be withdrawing the M600 due to the amounts of issues and problems that its been having. Irony is, that the M600 that it sells are branded, and you can't upgrade the firmware.
If you do get it unbranded, then it should be fine.

I've been playing with a new Vodafone branded M600i for almost a week now, and although it's on R4A and I've been able to make it do a few odd things, it's only crashed the once, and really seems pretty stable in everyday use. I like it a lot.
I've been on to Voda about updating the firmware, and this is the latest response:
Quote:Thank you for contacting Vodafone Customer Service about your Sony Ericsson M600i phone.
I wish to tell you that you can get R4A firmware from any of our Vodafone Retail Stores. I can confirm that all network service provider are offering the R4A firmware.
You can get R9A firmware directly from the Sony Ericsson.
I wish to tell you that the R9A software will be available with us shortly, however, I cannot confirm any timescales.
Obviously the bit about getting R9A from SE is rubbish (unless anyone's had any luck with the update? I haven't) but the "available with us shortly" is encouraging.

@masseur,
I must say i am little surprised the change in priority from TyTyn to M600 i am shortly going to put my data Sim back in it to try it once more. I love its size and screen in the right lighting conditions, E-mail is handled faultlessly(Pop3) manual retrieval. I am just not a fan of Opera though not even Mini, pictures are handled well not so keen on video, To me its best feature is the Music Player with the HBH-DS970's.
Michal Jerez reports on a new firmware coming soon that speeds things up a bit and a few other improvements. Speed is an issue for me i find UIQ3 painfully slow especially compared to S60 3rd Edition on my N93. Also i have found bluetooth to be a complete nightmare for synching to my laptop have to turn on bluetooth prior to booting up the laptop otherwise no chance, and even then it is hit or miss. MY 93 will sync whenever i turn it on so it can't be the laptop setup and M-router is configured and connects and is working properly. I really would like to use my M600 as my main phone and just use the N93 for pictures , videoing and watching video but currently am struggling to make this so.
Marc

I'm having a very big problem with my M600i. It won't start up past the greeting screen. It happened earlier today when it decided to reset itself, but never got past the greeting screen. I can't use it at all right now, which is very bad. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Well, this is the absolute sale pitch for me...
masseur loves it. If masseur loves it. Its a hit.
Im actually calling today about getting m600i. But im not sure if I would go with black or white... In the new bond movie, is it a white m600i the girl uses? I sat during the movie and thought "man thats a nice phone" wonder if its a m600 but in white housing, at that point I dident know they had a white housing.
Is this phone worth the money these days? i can get one for 393 euro, 514 usd or 3585 sek (sweden).
