They're not going to like you downloading 120Gb a month for £17.99 no matter what their fair use policy is! In fact, you'll probably find that the fair use policy effectively cancels out the 'unlimited bandwidth' clause
I use AOL with a router. I don't have to use their browser and I've NEVER had conection problems or warning emails about usage (I often download a few gig per month too because I'm a Vista beta tester).

just looked at AOL and it doesnt look bad at all.
maybe you can help me cyco.
do you know of any ISP that have a better contention ratio and up speeds for residential use on ADSL?
as you know i own fatreg.co.uk and its currently used as a dumping ground but 256kbps up speeds are a joke.
cheers

hi, our f2s broadband (27.99) for 512k! (expensive i know) - it has 50:1 ratio....but it's not on there website any more - it was a specialist user adsl connection. pure ip connect - means we have a constant ip address for home. we are probably going to upgrade to 2mb broadband, because we are too far away for 8mb

- most cheap deals, do not say what the ratio is, so that means the connection could drop very, very frequantly (well...slow down frequantly

)
correct me if wrong,
awave
EDIT - remember...anything that's 'unlimtited' is not...ever...basically so...yeh

@fatreg
Bulldog currently offer the fastest residential upstream, upto 1 meg but it isn't cheap. Can't remember what the contention ratio is
I'm not keen on these relatively new providers though, heard a few horror stories.

the ukonline deal looks good but you need to see if there equipment is in your nearest exchange otherwise you cant get there service like bullbog.
aol and some others use bt s equipment and just rent the line.
anyone that has a fair useage policy is gonna be no good for you with the amount you download.
bt are beginning to charge for people who go over the limits so certain companies who ve turned a blind eye will be getting billed by bt so will start to impose there fair use policy a lot more vigoruously
tiscali operate a fair usage policy ( not a chargable one )but during peak hours heavy downloaders get there speeds cut dramatically according to the website. its only between 6-11pm.
but this might have an effect on your desision to go with them if these are key hours for you
ukonline also operate a fair usage policy but doesnt stipulate how much.http://www.ukonline.net/footerpages/fupinc.php?sso_auth=0
