Yep looks like my UK o2 K800i is going to do the same after
3 days of use. It seems to be because the edges do come in contact as they are slightly lifted from the body.

This is not a direct quote but how the info filtered through to me. The phone is said to undergo further testing by Optus and aims to be released on Optus in no sooner than 6 weeks time.
Telstra are supposedly releasing it on the 17th (according to catalogues), but this was before Optus withdrew it, and I'm not sure whether Telstra would follow through.
I'm told that Three either don't test their phones, or don't worry a whole lot when testing their phones, which is why they are the first to stock it. They capitalise on early buyers, and let the warrantees take care of the faults. Cheers!

Those markings are on the Hong Kong versions, they're used to write chinese characters.
