I liked the menu style on the - V3 ! Plain and simple . . . with it's old models . .. the V60i was really giving me a hard time when sending SMS, but the contour was so elefant

in the philippines nokia is still the number1 handset most people here use nokia's as they like the interface and the brand nokia seems to draw them to buy it. i too had a long line of nokia's and regretted it when i bought my w800. i guess the masses speak here and most of them use nokias and a few SE's mostly P9 users and many k750 users and a few w800 users.

NOKIA had established this certain signature to mindset the buyers... via ADS etc etc...
and besides.. there are alot of stereotypes here in manila...

A friend of mine just sold her 6-month old Samsung and bought a N70. She doesn't even know the features of the phone and all she cares about is making calls and texting. She didn't even ask about camera resolution, memory, music player, connectivity, etc. When I asked her why she chose the N70 she said "I like the Nokia better".
It will probably take SE several more years (and aggressive advertising) to break the mentality of phone buyers and finally lead in market shares. Tying up with movies and MTVs is very smart IMHO.

Here in SA to, Nokias are first then
Samsungs losing out now... Apart from the razr no1 uses Moto!
Also I think theirs a lot more interest in
phones these days, all the phone website show the
phones have the most views!

50 million RAZRs have something to do with it. Motorola getting No. 1 is wishful thinking! How many phones have they announced for the year? Three? And only one is mid-high range, the ROKR E2.
Nokia has made up ground with the N series and SE is booming! SE phones are more popular than what several surveys suggest.

We have to keep in mind that most people dont know or dont care about the features in their phones. They get it for its primary purpose, thats talking. And when someone doesnt know about something, he normally goes for the most respected, most reputed and most popular brand i.e Nokia.

SE is gaining a massive reputation because of the Walkman phone. It's the new iPod (at least for those who don't need the storage offered by the 20GB+ models) and proves that anything that has been around a long time and become super fashionable can quickly become unfashionable. (SE will also suffer this if they over saturate the market).
The V3 will become unfashionable, and Motorola MUST get something new out in the next year or so. I am sure they will, as history shows they always do design something revolutionary - even if the UI lets it down. There's no way they'll become number one though, unless they massively increase their portfolio. Of late, Motorola hasn't been bothering with the high-end models or doing anything special (HD phone, 3-5 megapixel camera with optical zoom etc) probably because they don't need to as long as the V3 rakes in the cash.
Incidentally, the SLVR doesn't seem to be selling that well going by figures from some of the retailers. Even the U2/RED phone for charity hasn't flown off the shelves.
