The P990i is readily available in the Philippines since last week (un-official retailers). The official date of release according to SE is on the 1st week of Sept here in the Philippines..

I am finally getting my P990i today at 16:00 (Cyprus time which is 2 hours ahead of UK). It has been released here as of today although not from the SE shop. It is a private dealer, though leading in the mobile stuff market. I will edit this post and give the name of the dealer as soon as I get mine today, as they operate in a "first come, first serve" basis and I would not want to miss the opportunity to get my hands on my new "toy-gadget" today, after this long wait.
All the best to all us beta testers of SE p990i!
And something else...
I very recently purchased the W810i and I am amazed. It's fast, cool looking and packet with (not businness-like) features.
Can somebody tell me how on earth I will be prepared this afternoon to face my worst fear? Most of my friends believe I am a gadget-geek cause I spend most of my money on T3 stuff. I then try to convince my self first and then all the others, that I have made the best choice and bought a gr8 gadget. I am absolutely sure that today this will not be the case. But then again I will have to postpone the worst-case scenario until tomorrow morning, cause my P990i will be charging all day long.
Anyway, isn't that weird? We are more than happy to have all our statutory rights (consumer) forgotten as far as P990i is concerned. Fit for it's purpose or not? Well...it's fit, I believe. Once in a while all boys need a new toy and that's what it is. Play too much with it and it will break. Leave it alone and it will be covered in dust. Love it and you will have the best times with it.
Of course that's my point of view and I totally understand business people trying to work through it. It's crap even if it crashes once. Imagine it failing you when you expect the most important email! But then again it's a pda and all pdas and computers are far from perfect. Maybe, just maybe we should just be patient, trust our instinct and sometimes challenge our undisputed faith on SE! This will make them do their best to keep us believers.

Well, now that I am a proud owner of IT I can tell you that the next 5 available phones will be in on Monday through
www.sountech.com.cy in Cyprus. Call them to reserve one a.s.a.p.
They kept their word ans as I was number 1 on their list of reservations it was an amazing moment seeing 15 guys waitng in line in case I did not show up.I went at the front end of the queue I said my name and...voila...it was mine!
as for the price...dont ask!
The prmiun for being amongst the first two persons to have it in Cyprus was rather high...

Bad news for potential Indian customers of this phone.. now they say it won't be available for another 2 weeks....
Nokia, on the other hand, does make its latest phones available here as soon as they are launched across the world...
