when typing in number mode you should still be able to use the backspace button instead of having to switch to letter mode.

Is this really a major issue?
Mine doesn't make my bed or cook me dinner. This phone sucks. What is wrong with SE?

no i agree! its like when you type in a web address and the first "w" is upper case. its not a huge issue - but i would preffer it if it didn't do that and i'm sure it wouldn't take much to change!
also - on a separate note, when in web browser and you want to use the sortcuts (eg 2 for bookmarks) i wish you didn't have to press "alt" first.

Also when using this trick in conjunction with SwissManager, the phone only needs 84kb to turn off that damn animation.
But I do strongly agree, this NEEDS to be an option for the next update.

- Fix memory leaks! More robust feeling.
- More flexibility in the interface settings (ex: the notorious UI animation)
- Play voice recording with option to transfer to speaker
- Add "Montreal" to list of cities! At least they have "Quebec".
- Have the Call Logs always available in the front page. Currently, I replaced the SPEED DIAL icon with CALL LOGS.
- I don't know but the SYMBIAN main menu icon is ugly. Where is Sony's main design team?
- Have a "double-click" option so that we can browse through items/messages easier without having to aim to that tiny checkbox to manage them.
- Add the PICTURE EDITOR as a tool, not appearing only when selecting a picture to edit. They are already separate applications, why can we only call it through the picture viewer??
- In CONTACTS, when you use the JOG DIAL and click on a person, it should CALL them, not accessing the profile. Way too tedious. Accessing a profile should only be in the status bar "VIEW".
- An HOURGLASS or some similar icon should appear to let the user know that something is loading. Sometimes, I have to guess if I click on something with my stylus or not!
- A setting should exists to eliminate the need of always asking if it's FLIGHT MODE every single time I turned on the phone. Especially on a phone that crashes frequently and takes 2 minutes to start. Not everyone takes plane every week/month.
- Ok ok, enough for now...
I agree with above posters:
- Louder speakerphone!
- Better flexibility for the BACKLIGHT settings, it dims WAY too fast.
If I had the time, I would write an app to fix some of these issues. I hope SE will really continue support for this phone.

The flight mode (problem you mentioned) is already taken care of; itcan be enable or disabled so that it does not prompt if you don't want too.
Control Panel.... Device.... Flight mode etc.

My thoughts on the call from Contacts and Jog Dial(How it works now.).... the jog dial is used to select the name.... and then press the "call" key on the screen seems fine. That why we have a touch screen etc.
What would happen if there are serval numbers for a contact and the first one was not the one you wanted. This would be a pain if you only used the Dial ?
The main menu Icon can be changed to whatever you want it to be... make your own Icon and replace easy.

If there are many numbers to a contact, you can press the left or right arrows on the keybaord (bottom part, either side of zero key), which rotates you through the numbers as well as the e-mail addresses of a contact.
Not as ideal since you have to change from the jog dial. BUt it works.
But still, this is another example of where the jog dial should be able to hold down for context menu. Stupid idea of SE to remova that functionality.
Also those left/right arrows do NOT work on the calendar to move from month to month when you are in looking at the one month view. Another silly ommission.

Hi all.
The reason that when you try and type a web address the first W is a capital is due to the fact that you have auto capitalisation set to on. Set it to off and this will no longer happen hope that helps.

How about the USB Mass Storage profile working on Mac's and the ability to sync via SyncML over IR or Bluetooth rather than just HTTP? If this could happen, I would be the happiest SE customer in the world.
