I think Windows Mobile is better. It is Microsoft's solution, and Microsoft is one of the best operating systems creator. They've created the Windows for desktop computers which is the most popular operating system in the world so the name "windows" is very popular name. I think the same situation is with the mobile phones based on operating system. Windows mobile has greater support for applications, games and etc. This do not mean that the Symbian OS is worse, but they are different opponents like Windows and Linux or Windows and Macintosh or Intel vs AMD. You know what I want to say, i hope,

Are you serious, strizlow800 ????!!!!
"Microsoft solution" ??? Can we use both words in thee same sentence without sounding, um ... , sarcastic?
Microsoft did not "create" the Windows desktop OS, it's just a licensed copy of the Mac OS of old, but that's history.
Yes, there are far more Windows platform machines out there than anything else.
There are also far more species and numbers of cockroaches than human beings!

adhussain, and the rest of you who posted I agree with you, symbian is more stable then the previous devices of wm5, but the new devices are very different, I 've had both and can say this generation of wm5 phones are indeed stable.

My P990 reboots once every 2 days, while my wm5 device reboots tice every day. Since there are so many wm devices out there, the hardware drivers are not half as stable than as the symbian.
Though there are more applications built for wm, symbian has built in support for java, so the number of software should be quite equal.
The text regonition software on wm is better though

Damn...spent abt an hour attaching n non exe file from my KJAM 2 hotmail/gmail using inbuilt hotmail (no option 2 attach attachments); Opera (didnt work with hotmail nor Gmail); Netfront (couldnt do shit)...would ve managed it in 5 mins on my late P910...got the KJAM only cause P910 & P990 dont ve EDGE. How I miss my P910.
I m sure there must be a way in WM5 but UIQ was so much better & easier.
Oh, did I mention I had 2 restart abt 4 times in that 1 hour % still couldn't manage 2 attach it 2 my mail.
Come on

give us a UIQ3 device with HSDPA; 3G; EDGE; a decent cam; fast WIFI & don't 4get the scroll wheel others R coping...n don't worry abt the apps...they will start flooding 1s U ve launched it.

History for the younger folks:
The first "smart phone" device that started it all for the later Symbian line was the R380 from Ericsson. The Epoc OS was used to marry a phone with a pda. It had a rectangular screen with a long flip. So it was an OS developed for a phone that is where it's strength is. The pda function was added. This OS developed into the Symbian OS.
The WM was first developed as a pda OS to compete with the Palm PDA's. Then the phone function was added later.
I used a WM2003 HP6515 device. very slow, e-mail did not work, so I returned it for a full refund, thanks to tmobs 14 day return policy. IT did not get me excited except for the wifi portion.
With my P900 I still have fun after 2.5 years. Long live the Symbian OS.
I prefer it personally. Maybe I try the WM in a few years again.
