how about an app that resembles BootMan. it needn't be so complicated. just an app that would start itself at start-up and would be able to start other apps as well. but in contrast to other start-up apps there could be one more function: when it starts all the apps it shuts itself down.

i'd really like something like that.

Well if any developers out there are really bored, they could try and come up with a replacement for the excellent Psion macro5. Users would be able to map a string of text, pointer events, button-clicks, app-launches etc, to an event such as a pointer gesture or character not usually in the users input language, an 'on-time' even or even a magic-word being spoken. Possibilities could be limitless.
