@nalbagli
oh did i hit a nerve?
You mentioned ipods, not me, and i think you'll find this is a phone forum.. but you know the reason why

Sony wished to produce some cool looking phones, with funk modern style, while using THE portable music brand, just as ipod is virtually the generic term for portable mp3 players in the 21st century, walkman was THE generic term for portable cassette players through the 1980's. The walkman phones come with far superior headphones than the normal SE phones, and larger storage solutions, as has been mentioned already.

How do you KNOW that the sound isn't any better on the W series over the K series phones? All you have is a very subjective assessment, only what you think, seems to me you never even notice the mega bass wasn't available on your K series..... Same goes for your assessment of the camera, what do you base this on? the same, i think.. therefore criteria?

Why do you ask questions to a forum like this when you clearly already have all the answers? Every response to your initial question seems to be getting shot down by you.
Chill out nalbagli

So because it is a monile phone forum I cant mention iPods? (Look the thread that I created about Walkman Phones vs iPods and it has loke 8 or more pages of different points of view)
I know about the sound because I have compared my k790 and w800...so have you made a comparison? ( I dont like Mega BASS...never used it in my w800)

Get in the w850 pics tread and you will clearly see that the cam is worse than the w800 one, even some w850 users have said that the cam is not as good as other 2mp cams (Though I love the w850)

What is a DISCUSSION forum for? To DISCUSS ...and akmost all anwers have been related to why SE released walkman phones, and that was not the question=?

well it's all about marketing strategy to implement the K and W series to the mobile world... you could get bored if just have the same old model of K for the next 20 years ahead now there's rumour about the E series(E=Emotional) from on the coming year which is on 2007 sounds cool to me

Anymore details bro ?

You are wrong. W550 is not the loudest. 3250 and N71 have similar, if not louder speakers with similar quality sound

Hi all,
Firstly sorry Dragon Eye but i have to disagree re the sound from the M600 paired with the HBH-DS970's the sound is excellent but this could be partly due to the conversion software used and the bitrate i use. I have used the Disc2Phone software converting to MP3 @192Kbps the M600 does have Megabass and an equaliser although only with pre sets not user definable.
In fact the Music Player is the only saving grace on the M600 as far as i am concerned.

Could some one please explain the difference between the Walkman Player in general and in the W950 and the Music Player in the M600? As the W950 has no Office software included only e-mail and web and seems expensive for the extra memory and as i can buy brand new 4x1gb M2 for £160 yet and there is over £200 price difference between the phones.

i'm not talking about a2dp... plug in a pair for hpm-70's and you'll notice a difference. if we tall a2dp all the sony a2dp models sound pretty much the same.

the smartphone lineup seems to have included megabass.. but all the other ones do not... k800/z710/z610 etc..etc..

the walkamn 2.0 player has a lot more functions... mode playlsit sorting by mode and rank, album art, different views etc...etc..

it's expensive not cause it was just released give it 2-3 weeks and it'll be priced between the m600 and p990

the w550/w600 have nice external speakers.. but the n73 is louder and hte quality is better.. the moto rokr e1 has great speakers too..
