If you like the looks of the Wakkman player on the W850, then the one on the W950 will totally blow you away. The radio app on the W950 is amazing as well (WAY better than the one on my W800)!
EDIT: You can see some really nice pics of the W950's UI (including the media player) in this GSM Arena review:

@cheekynige
The previous poster asked what was the differences of the Walkman Player both Jah and myself have praised the sound of both the P990 and M600 especially with the HBH-DS970's which have given the best sound in his opinion. Now seeing as he has all three and is into music until i listen to my music in a W950 i am inclined to value his opinion.
No one was having a go at the sound quality of the P990 and i see no reason why if i want a Music Player i shouldn't expect to find it in my phone. I don't want a Ipod or Walkman or any other MP3 player i want my music in my smartphone and i expect it to be very good. I may not be impressed by much in my M600 but the Music Player is the one thing with the HBH-DS970's has surprised me in its quality.

annoying feature of the media player for me is when it looks for mp3's. It will pick up any on the memory stick and that includes all the sound effects for lemmings. Is there a way to exclude tracks?

There is on the W950. It has a filter that allows your to skip files that are below 1 MB in size.
You could try simply setting the file's hidden atribute and see if it gets skipped.
