i was using my phone for 10 days like that!
with the jog dial it is a simple phone - nothing else... Some of the simple features cannot be used properly. SE should have taken care of this, i mean we should havebeen able to use ALL of the phone's functions with the jog dial.
I have taken the phone to the place i bought it and they have sent it to the SE headquarters in my country. They said that usually SE does not accept such kind of fault and usually the customer pays for it.
My phone 's touchscreen just stopped working, i didnt put it in water or somewhere similar.
I have said to my self, that if they do not fix it for free (as it is still in the warranty period) this would be my last SE phone... Although M600 for me is my dream phone, i cannot rely anymore on SE's errors..

My screen does not work and I can't get the alarm to stop sounding every 5 minutes. I press the side button to take it off, but it highlights the SNOOSE button, which will only get it out of the way for a few minutes before it goes back on. How do I press the DONE button without my screen working??

I had the exact same problem and I fixed it.
First of all, it's ridiculously difficult to manage calls and shut off that damn alarm. Once it starts, it's over. Well, luckily for me, I'm curious.
After about a week, I ended up taking the entire phone apart, via a tutorial I saw online somewhere [wasn't that helpful really, he just showed that he did it]. Anyway, after opening it, once removing the screen cover, I suppose something had been lodged under the screen and by opening it it had gotten loose. Something had fallen out. After that it worked.
You won't be able to see what may be doing it until you remove the front shell cover though. The way I had realized what I needed to do, was I pressed down on the left/right side of the case, hard enough to offset whatever it was that was in there, and the display would work.
So, my advice, having bought my phone off of e-bay too, is to take it apart. Be careful as that silver lining marks easily. But it's worth trying to save the hassle of shipping and service costs. Worked for me. PM me if any questions.

I have a similar problem with my p1i,
The problem on persists when pressure is added to the screen. I was wondering if all m600i, and SE touchscreen device owners could press on the screen then use your other hand to touch icons. Because when I do this (applying pressure to the screen) the screen doesn't work.
My theory is, that all se's are plagued with this due to the way it is constructed. There could be dirt in between the frame of your pda and the screen itself, therefore pushing the screen into the phone rendering it faulty.
Parasluco,
When you dissassembled your phone did you find bits of debris the size of bread crumbs around the touch screen?

Yes, though they were so small that I figured there was no way they could be the cause of the problem. however, with my front casing off, I found the screen worked. Then when I reapplied the screen, it still worked. Been fine since, and that was in June.
