Sony Ericsson does have GPS phones in Japan. But it seems that SE still do not want to market it in the international market.

@einst - AGPS is proper GPS except that location acquisition is assisted by the cell phone network, satellites are also used for triangulation

@others - there is speculation that the next version of the SE MBW-100 will have GPS. Personally I prefer not to have integrated GPS and a 'wearable' GPS would be my preferred solution.

I think integrated GPS would be nice to have in the next version of Pxxx series. I don't think battery is an issue any more. I just bought Holux GPSlim240. it's so small and the battery is also very small. This GPS runs on lithium battery for 8 to 10 hours.

Other thing SE could do (which I highly recommend) is have two batteries (main battery for phone and 1 small battery for GPS) just to makes sure your battery is not dead when you want to make calls. Making calls is the most important thing on the phone compared to GPS. So I would definitely think about 2 batteries approach.
